HEMPHILL CONCRETE FINISHING

Do not use Hemphill Concrete. I had a agreement that I owed nothing until job was complete. I foolishly gave them $3000 up front. Part of the work was not done and the finishing was the worst I have ever seen. Uneven, pitting, exposed aggregate, bad turned down edges and busted corners on step and curbs. Hemphill ordered the concrete from Southern Concrete. When the last delivery came, the driver said I owed for the concrete. I did not feel safe to refuse payment. The amount due was more than my quote for the work. By paying this, I have no financial recourse other than court now. Southern Concrete told me that Hemphill does not even have an account with them, and always makes their customers pay for the concrete. They are both complicit in duping the customer. I have already had to spend over a thousand to saw cut, grade and haul off my property, which was included in my quote, not to mention countless hours of my own. When the weather warms up, I am looking at several thousand more dollars for a polymer modified overlay to attempt to fix the shoddy work by Hemphill Concrete. Do your homework. They have an "F" on both BBB and Angie's List. Don't make my mistake.
