My tenants reported that the bathroom ceiling was bubbling. The property managers contacted Jerry's Home Improvements to go the property and assess the damages and give an estimate for repairs. I received an estimate for $300.00 to "Repair nail pops in both bathrooms ceiling and paint ceilings?. I contacted Jerry the owner to discuss the damages and he told me that he had to remove the nails, repair the damaged sheet rock and repaint "BOTH" bathroom ceilings. I asked him did he have pictures of the damage and he replied yes, I asked him to e-mail them to me. I waited about 5 days and never received another call or pictures from Jerry. I decided to drive 325 miles to personally examine the damages. I arrived and found "ONE" nail pop in the master bathroom and the 2nd bathroom did NOT have any nail pops or damage. I went to lowes and purchased spackle which cost $4.58 to repair the damages and repainted an area of about 2 to 3 inches instead of the entire ceiling. Jerry?s Home Improvements intentionally tried to over charge me to a tune of about $295.00. A reputable company could have repaired the area for about $100.00 to $125.00, which I would have gladly paid. A reputable company would have instructed the tenants that the ONE nail pop was normal and didn?t require repairs and billed me for a $50.00 service call. I instructed the property managers to never allow this guy to set foot on my property again under any circumstances! If you have Jerry's Home Improvement give you an estimate of any kind and you live out of town, take the time to have a friend inspect the damages if you are unable to. I would not recommend this guy to anyone EVER! He gives the handyman business a BAD NAME! I would like to notify anyone seeking his services to beware of fake or false work orders to drive up cost and an attempt to rip off homeowners. If I had not of driven 325 miles to view the damages myself, Jerry's Home Improvements would have repaired ONE nail pop in the Master Bathroom and repainted the area of about of 2 or 3 inches and billed me for repairing and painting the ceiling of 2 bathrooms which he had not done!
