I am moving from a 3500 sq ft home to a 1700 sq ft home just 8 miles away. I contacted Adele to help me with the sorting, moving and disposal of the furniture that is not being moved. She sent 3 women to pack- at 50 dollars per woman per hour... So basically 150.00 per hour. It all went well until the "leader" - not Adele, but her partner- was packing my bedroom and I was trying to decide what to take... She apparently thought I was taking too long to decide and she said, "I'm too expensive to be standing around while you make decisions" ! I was so intimidated by the woman, I just said " pack it all! I'll sort it on the other end". So now I have to go through everything one more time. Then, Adele had arranged for a moving truck and 2 men... The truck was actually a large van... Not nearly large enough to move everything. So, bottom line is that I spent a thousand dollars to move stuff that didn't need to move and am still packing and moving stuff that does need to move. I declined to use Adele for anything further.... The disposal of the furniture, household objects, etc because it seems that her motivation is just profit and not actually helping with difficult life changes. She flat out refused to consider doing a living estate sale because she felt that my home is too far out in the country and that we wouldn't get the traffic necessary to generate a profit! This service might be a good fit for some, but I wouldn't use them again.

"I am very sorry that [member name removed] was not pleased with our services. We were concerned before we started that she might need some time to sort before packing for the movers. She told us that most of her things would not be going to the new home and that she just wanted to take the basics.Her house was full of items, every counter and floor space was filled. It was her decision to go in and pack without sorting even after we warned it might be too much to do in one day. My team leader did not intend to be offensive at all but was conerned for the time that things needed to be packed before the mover arrived and that she was taking this time that was pre-arranged for packing. As for the moving company...I explained that this delivery services was much cheaper than a regular moving company but only had a splinter van. She choose this options because at the beginning she was not going to take but just a few items. However, by the time we arrived and mover she had much more to take than we discussed at the consultation. As for cleaning out her home, I explained from the very beginning that to hold a estate sale there has to be enough value in the home to cover the labor to put one one. I also was concerned because her home is located out in the country. However, I told her all along that we had resources to help her clean out her home...but would decide best route to take after she took all she needed to the new home so we could evaluate what was left to sell. She never called me back for the clean out to give her the options. I am sorry that [member name removed] felt like we were all about the money because I spent over 3 hours of my time and paying my team leaders time for no charge to help her come up with a plan. I also donated over $200.00 worth of boxes and paper to help her and paid for my delivery service and team travel time to her home 45 minutes away. I did this as a free donation to help her."

Both Adele & Shelia were professional and non-judgemental. It was fantastic and I highly recommend Fresh Start Transitions. Being ill I am limited with my ability to lift, carry, stand and walk. Shelia was my legs and arms.  I am so grateful and appreciative of  their help and generous spirit.

It was good. It was done in two stages, shortly after I purchased it, Adel came out and sort of did the consultation and all and then I asked them to wait because she had given me some homework like getting storage bins and things like that. I was kind of bogged down and so it was my delay. I don't remember exactly when they came out to finish but I would say it was probably about two months later but again that was my delay. They were obviously experienced because they came out and knew exactly what they were doing. The lady that came out who actually did the organizing was very good and very fast. She made a lot of good suggestions. She asked my permission and she just took over and did it. It was great. I just stepped back and watched.

Adele did an amazing job, and everyone who's seen my condo since her work has really been impressed. I had already rearranged some furniture, based on her advice at our 6/20 consultation (included in the price above), but on this visit we also moved some furniture to maximize the space in other rooms, She advised on what pictures & other art to hang and where to hang them, and took care of the task, including adding when needed the hanging hardware. She arranged 4 bookshelves so that each became an attractive mix of books and decorative items. She also completely cleared up the clutter in my large laundry room, and rearranged it to look 300% better. Adele also used some lamps I had been storing along with paperweights and other decorative objects to make interesting displays on several table tops throughout the condo. She also advised me about using plants to add interest to some of the rooms, and suggested ways to make the kitchen look its best. Finally, she advised me on the best towel colors to use in my bathrooms to add interest, since my walls are all neutral everywhere.  

   Adele worked  steadily (despite my urging her to take a break during the 4 hour+ time she was here!) and she worked quickly. She is so positive and energetic that she made it a real pleasure to have her here, and the result of her efforts is outstanding! I highly recommend her.

Linda Bondy arrived a few minutes before our appointment time.  I maintain Social Security information and pay bills for a member of my family.  I was so overwhelmed with the amount of paper work (bills, general info, etc.) that I had actually quit opening the mail.  I had not thrown anything away, but it was in no particular order and was massive (seriously).  Linda helped me go through every piece of mail and assisted in creating folders for this mail and future mail.  We worked for four solid hours - barely taking a breath.  When my four hours was up, all of the information I needed to be able to put my hands on was right at my fingertips in folders that actually made sense.  She helped me with my personal information as well and made some changes that will help me with my information as well.  When my time with Linda was over, I felt like the weight of the world had been lifted off my shoulders.  She was a delightful person and made this task not so bad.  She made suggestions, but was dilligent about making sure I was comfortable with her suggestions.  Every encounter I had with Fresh Start Transitions - from the first phone call I made - through the end of my appointment with Linda, was so positive.  Linda was every inch a professional as were all the people I spoke with on the phone.  (I told a friend of mine about Angie's List and she joined and worked with Fresh Start Transitions as well.)
If not for Angie's List, I would never have found out about this incredible group of professionals.  They do a variety of organization assistance, and I would highly recommend them for any task they perform.

Adele viewed each room of my home & offered tips on preparations I could do to make our organizing/staging appointment go more smoothly, such as packing up some of the books I had, to create more space on my bookshelves. Went great and I would highly recommend them. They organized me, separated the items that needed to be sent to charity, contacted charity company that came and did a pick up.  Contacted the Consignment Shop, they came by looked at our inventory then scheduled a trip to pick up everything.  The organizer was fantastic. She really had a good feel for valuables, charity items and consignment items.  She boxed up everything.  She came with boxes and wrapping paper and tape.  Well organized.  Thanks for having this available on Angie's List. Great Company!!!!

Fresh Start Transitions was wonderful to work with, and I highly recommend them. Initially, the owner provided a one hour consultation to assess my organizing needs in my attic and garage. I have two attic spaces that needed a thorough clean up / clear out. The owner suggested a particular shelving system for one of the attic spaces so I could better place my china, glassware, etc. Once the shelving arrived, she had a team member familiar with the system (IKEA shelving) come to install it in the attic.
After the shelving was installed, I then worked with another team member to weed out items I no longer needed and sort for donation. The team member then helped me to organize by category the items I wished to keep throughout my two attic spaces: china, gift wrap,  toys, holiday decorations, clothing, etc. I already had many items in large plastic bins. The team member helped me to rearrange the large plastic bins to make them more readily accessible and helped me to accurately label the bins so I could easily determine what was inside.
Now that the attic spaces are complete, I have "zones" for my items - a zone for gift wrap, a zone for my china and glassware, a zone for my holiday decorations, a zone for toys, etc. I can easily find items when I need them, and they have a place to return to when I am finished using them.
After completing the attic spaces, we then moved onto my garage. The team member helped me to again sort items for donation, as well as rearrange items within the garage to make them more easily accessible. My garage space has never looked so good!!!
The team from Fresh Start Transitions was fabulous and so helpful. They took excellent care of the items needing rearranging, and they were extremely professional. Plus, they were all so nice!!! Very punctual, too!!  I would definitely recommend them to anyone needing organizational services, and I plan to use them again for my future organizing needs.

We used an Angie's List introductory coupon for an hour move consultation and four hours of organizing and de-cluttering of the first room in preparation of downsizing move.  Additional sessions are being scheduled for larger project covering the garage.  We also plan to to use Fresh Start Transitions to advise us on furniture reduction required to fit in the new, smaller space.  We are well along the way to a more compact living footprint.  Pleased with service delivered in this first stage.
