When I initially spoke with Cottage Chic I asked if their products come from North Carolina. I was assured they do. They told me it would take 10 days to get the items that I had ordered directly to my client once they were completed (10 days MAX). It's now 4 months later and still have not had these delivered. They have never followed up with me, I have had to hound them to get things rolling. Consistently I was told that they would be delivered in days, however I was to find out they were essentially giving me false information and stalling for reasons unknown to me at the time. Eventually they revealed to me that they had been through 4 different moving companies AFTER they had told me the items had been picked up. Their delays and false information has not only hurt my business, but my client STILL has not received the items she paid for. I also found out months later that the items ordered were not even from NC, they were being shipped from California. This culminated into me contacting the shipping company, who essentially gave me information conflicting with what Cottage Chic had told me in reagrds to the shipping time. If I could help one person avoid this company I feel I am doing a public service.

Response from COTTAGE CHIC
Ms. [member name removed] ordered a number of custom items from our company April 15th. She was given a production time of 8-10 weeks. The furniture was completed on June 15. Miss [member name removed] was notified of this and she chose to pay by check and send the check by USPS which delayed the processing until June 26 when the check arrived and was deposited. The furniture were scheduled to be picked up by the shipper co which usually takes 7-10 days to arrange. After a week the company confirmed that the chairs had been picked up and then one week later we were notified that the shipping company was in error and the furniture had not been picked up. Cottage only ships white glove delivery. We pride ourselves on having top quality furniture and custom items which means we must be able to trust the shipping company to treat our goods with the care they deserve. We then cut ties with this first shipping company and used an alternate shipping company. This company confirmed that they would be able to pick up the chairs by August 5. The second shipping company, Reliable Trucking, was based out of North Carolina, however, and the chairs were coming from California and the company was not able to get a truck to the state for at least a week after the date they claimed they could pick up the chairs. We then put a rush delivery on yet another shipping company, Trail lines, which quoted a 5-7 day delivery from August 13th to be delivered around August 19th. The client is asserting that the chairs have not even been made and that we are lying to her, this is certainly not the case. This order has been subjected to misinformation from shipping companies as well as a delay from using a check instead of credit card to make payment. Email correspondence clearly shows that she is inaccurate in stating that we failed to contact her during this process. We have apologized immensely to our client and take the shipping of her goods seriously. We have now put her in contact with the shipping company directly so that there are no more communication issues with her order.
