I specialize in the repair and restoration of handmade French and English clocks, especially the more complicated movements such as chain driven fusee, multiple chime tube and musical clocks made by J.J. Elliott, W+H, Hershedes, Walter Durfee, Tiffany, Rj Horner, Etc. As for fusee movements.... I have dozens of chains in stock, both reproduction and antique, in lengths to 75 inches. As of late i have been receiving requests for the cleaning of brass and gilt bronze items. Through much trial and error over the years, i have developed a system of cleaning gold gilt items with great success. Cleaning gold gilding is done solely with chemicals, as it cannot be rubbed or buffed, as the gold will disappear quickly with any rubbing.
