We chose the mid-grade inspection - the Premium Inspection - which included a 1600-point comprehensive visual home inspection of all accessible areas of the home and infrared scanning for electrical or moisture issues. Steve was very knowledgable of the building trades, industry standards and code regulations. Arrived on time and worked efficiently, covering all inspections points thoroughly, and took numerous pictures. All HVAC, appliances, etc. were cataloged by model number, age and expected life. Steve uncovered plumbing, electrical, window, brick, drainage, and HVAC deficiencies. He even discovered hot/cold water inversion in the toilets as a result of the infrared scanning, which gave us leverage to negotiate repairs with seller. Couldn't have been nicer or more professional. The report was about 24 pages and printed on-site at the conclusion of the inspection. Steve reviewed the entire report and answered our numerous questions regarding the deficiencies and the systems in the house, in general. The report was provided to us in a 3-ring binder, which included a home maintenance checklist, coupons, and a file system for important home papers. The inspection also included a Safety Recall Check report for all the appliances and mechanical equipment, and I still receive a monthly report from with updates from this service. Steve was also quick to respond to questions that came up during the seller negotiations period, and offers a re-inspection service at a discount. I recommend Steve without reservation.

Steve was on time (early, in fact) and checked every inch of the townhome thoroughly. He took photos, made notes and pointed out things as he went along. When the inspection was finished, we were provided a binder containing his full report including photos.
Additionally, Steve was very professional and extremenly nice. My husband was present during the whole inspecion but at one point, the realtor, my mother, my two kids (ages 3 and 4) and I popped in all at the same time. The place was a little chaotic while we were there, but Steve didn't seem the least bit disturbed and he even gave my son a high five as we were leaving.
Also, the lady who scheduled the appointment was very thorough and super nice too. I will definitely recommend Pillar to Post and Steve Martin to friends and family and would use him again if I ever need another home inspection.

My husband and I contacted Mr. Martin kind of late on a Thursday evening. I asked his assistant if they do inspections in our city. He said yes and when I gave them the details Mr. Martin quoted us a very reasonable price immediately and said he could do it at 8 am the following Monday. We were so happy that he could get to it so fast. When I went by the property to take my children to school at 7:30 am, Mr. Martin was already there working. My husband was there during the inspection and I came for part of it also. Mr. Martin was very courteous with us. He was very thorough in his work and check out all parts of the property in detail. He answered all of our questions very patiently and even took the time to offer more information than we had asked for. He was very knowledgeable in his work. He took pictures and worked on his report in the kitchen of the property. When we left we had his report in hand. I would recommend Mr. Martin's service to anyone looking for a home inspector. Mr. Martin is very knowledgeable and thorough. We were impressed! He did a wonderful job for us and we really appreciate his work.

Steve was at the house for several hours going over everything from roof to basement. He set up his computer and printer on the kitchen counter and was able to leave me with a printed report in a binder. There was no waiting for him to get back to me. He was very thorough and I would use his company again, if needed.

Roger gave a very thorough inspection of the home we were planning to purchase. He set up his computer work station in the kitchen then got right to work. He was with us for 4 hours. In that time he inspected every inch of the interior and exterior of the house plus tested the electrical outlets. He compiled a comprehensive report in a binder with photographs for us to share with any future contractors that we might hire to make repairs. The binder also included coupons for home services from other companies plus a dvd all about home maintenance. Roger was professional in every way and answered all of our questions to the best of his ability and gave us suggestions for whom to ask on the ones he was unable to answer.
