I had some rotten wood outside on my Screened In Porch underneath the Indoor/Outdoor Carpeting. I knew this because it was "giving way" when I hired him to "fix the porch floor." He replaced maybe One and a Half Boards of pressure treated wood at the very most. When I pulled up the Outdoor Carpeting this past winter I saw "Holes" in the Wood in the area where he was supposed to replace the wood with Pressure Treated Lumbar of course. The Wood was "Old Wood" I could only see one board that he replaced, he did a tad...(very little bit) of underpinning work to make it "Look like" he had replaced the rotten wood. He showed me where he did the slight underpinning when I returned the following week or so. I took him for his word that the boards had all been replaced. He showed me the blinds that he hung, The Blinds had been paid for ahead of time. This hanging of outside blinds took him maybe 20 minutes. Just two shade like blinds inside the Outside Screened in Porch for hopefully some Privacy and to help Insulate during the Extremely Humid and Hot Coastal Southern Summers we have in North Carolina. Mark 1 is from New York or New Jersey if I remember correctly. The total price came to almost $!000. and was between $750. and $!000.00. Mark 1 told me he is a "Certified Contractor" who had to resort to "handiwork" and carpentry because of the "downturn in the Economy and Real Estate Industry;" again this was in 2010. Today the building industry is slightly........better. He was a Complete Rip Off, for me. Many time in this Location this type of business in the "home improvement and repair" industry is... More the Standard down here, with such a Transient Population and Out of Town Property Owners. I would never hire this person again. Not for anything. He did possibly $150.00 worth of "work" and charged me $750.00 or more but I know he charged at least $750. Mark 1 is a "con artist", very good at Looking Professional, but in actuality he is everything but and did not do what he agreed to do "at all. I realized this of course "after the fact." If you hire this person, watch everything he does. And, know what he is supposed to be doing or get someone to watch him who does know. I will never hire him again. He may not be this way with everyone, but he was this way with me. Single Women and Elderly Beware!
Description of Work: The Provider hung some outside blinds. He did a decent job of that, but the biggest thing I hired him for is the part he cheated me on. I did not realize this until this past Winter when I pulled up the Outside Screened In Porch-Floor Carpeting. I was not here when he did the work assuming I could take him for his word as a "Professional." He "Looked Professional" In a Nice White Truck or Red Truck one with his "business name" on the side of his Truck neatly Signed.
