"Hello everyone! I would like to comment that when me and [Member Name Removed] agreed to work together there was a lot of mix ups. I got a call from my daughter’s school the morning I had to work for him and his wife. They told me that she was sick and throwing up. So as a father I had to take initiative action and prioritize my daughter for her well being it is what we all do as parents. I did in-fact reach out to [Member Name Removed] apologizing about the delay and lack of professional, I explained that I had to take my daughter to the doctors office so she could be treated. Doctors offices aren’t accurate with time it took longer than expected. Before I knew it was going to take so long, I told him I would be there asap and get started. We left the doctor’s office late. I went that day after taking my daughter to the doctors to [Member Name Removed] home I live in Newport,NC his home is about 45 mins from me. I went to talk to him about the job and what to we could agree on and that Im sorry about the delay. We agreed on Sunday, so that way he wouldn’t miss anymore work. He sent me a message the Saturday before about contacted someone else to fix the door and floor for security reasons. Which really only left me w so little to repair I told him if he paid the price that we agreed on I would still go.(I have to pay my helper as well) and as much as he needs his repair I need to profit as well. If I had got paid just for the little things I wouldn’t have made enough to pay the worker and me. If you don’t know construction work it’s not a 5 min process and down. Also I don’t know any construction company that provides materials in their labor cost? I wouldn’t profit anything if that’s the case. I tell customers to purchase material, in cases of some people in past references not wanting to pay for material and labor after job is done, basically them scamming free work and materials. The $1200 was not just for the roof it was for all the work I was going to do and I had a helper - Joists on the floor - Banding the joists - Removal of the front door - And storm door - Removal of the siding - The install the 2 door - And then put the siding back - Removal of the laminated floor and putting pack - Fix the shingles/leak I never tried to charge him another $1200 for that I don’t know where that came from. I’m only human from my experience just about a good 85-90% leaks occur from roofs. His roof isn’t in the best condition so from my point of view the damage on the roof and the where the leak was coming from lined up. After he told me the leak was still there, I was going to take a look at it because I was still going back on Sunday to continue working on what was left of the project. And of course I would take a second look at what the potential problem would have been. He stated that he need to put a pause in the project, I sensed the frustration. I assumed he was going to contact me again when he wanted me to go back. The roof was not a waste of job done. And of course I would have continued on with the project and looked more into the leak to get it fixed but the way the communication was at the end I was getting you didn’t want to continue, I was really just waiting to be summoned back. I do apologize I feel like this was all just miscommunication."
