I was far from pleased with the workmanship of my remodel and would not recommend this company to anyone. Although the employees and owner were pleasant, their work was sloppy. Below are some of the issues we endured.
Tile flooring was installed poorly. Several tiles were installed cockeyed and had to be chipped out and replaced.
Corners were cut in replacing/repairing ceiling after installing canned lighting. Workers cut the center of the room ceiling out to installed canned lighting and then patch repaired instead of replacing whole pieces of sheetrock. Even after I pointed out the seams were too visible, they proceeded to paint the ceiling. Months later, Mr. Jarman returned to "fix" the seam with more joint compound. Instead of painting the whole ceiling, he repainted the one area. Differences in ceiling texture and paint lines are visible.
The electrician came early on in the process, installed canned lights, moved some electrical lines and added new ones without installing receptacles or capping live wires, with the intention of returning later in the project to finish the install of undercabinet lights, install new receptacles and switches. The plumber got shocked while under the sink due to one of these live lines. (Other lines proved to have no power. See last bullet)
The faucet install did not go smoothly either. I had to call his plumber back 3 times before he figured out what where the leak was coming from.
To save money, I removed the wallpaper in the room. They began painting walls by cutting in around crown molding and windows without sanding or repairing any imperfections in the walls.
When Dale Jarman asked that I pay him for work completed, I didn?t think anything of it. My project was taking longer than expected due to cabinet manufacturer issues and I felt he was entitled since his workers needed to be paid. He provided an invoice and I paid it. I asked that he provide a detailed invoice to back up the original with the intent of comparing it to my quote so I knew what still was pending in terms of work and payment. This was never provided to me even though I requested it at least 2 times.
Because of the shoddy workmanship being provided, we decided to do some of the work ourselves that we had intended to have Tarheel Restoration perform. My husband went to install a receptacle to find that there was no power to one of the electrical lines that the electrician had ran. I began trying to contact Dale Jarman of Tarheel Restoration on at least 4-5 occasions over several months so that he could send his electrician, Billy, to see why there is no power to that line. He has not returned any of my texts, voice messages or email.
Although I was quoted the price of acquiring permits, no permit was gotten. Mr Jarman said if I didn?t intend to have the work inspected, one wasn?t needed for this type of work and that acquiring one would delay the start of the project.
This experience has been an expensive lesson in what not to do and I hope by filing this complaint, I can save someone else from having to go through the same.

Dale was wonderful to work with from start to finish. Seth whom did most of the work was just wonderful. He arrived everyday around the same time and worked non stop until he left for the evening. He never left a mess . Hope to have them back early summer to remodel our master bath......

I liked everything about them. The only thing I did not like is that I had to pay for it. I liked their customer service, speed and accuracy in which they completed their tasks. They worked very well with me and my tenants too. They got everything done in a timely fashion. I did not shop around so I cannot compare the price. I have to use them again shortly.

We've used Dale many times on several different properties, he installed water in our barn and a water heater, and even installed custom barn doors to keep the barn cooler in the summer. He's installed cabinets and flooring, removed mold and mildew from walls, repaired water leaks, he's designed and installed custom shelving in a pantry and bedroom. He's repaired 2 showers, a bathtub, and installed a garbage disposal. He's installed new faucets in our kitchen and bathrooms. If Dale can do it, we will hire him to do it!
