Piano Tuner Stacy Yoak

Stacy was pleasant and courteous. I was pleased that he was willing to tune my old upright. I was rather surprised at how quickly he completed the tuning. Previous tuners spent more time with it.. The mid and upper octaves tuned well. The lower two octaves are not as well-tuned. I'm assuming the age of the piano has something to do with it. I did leave a message asking if he would rework the lower register, but I did not receive a response. Overall, the piano sounds better than before the tuning, although I wish the lower octaves were better tuned.

Stacy spent a couple of hours doing a thorough job, and the piano sounds great now. He even took the time to answer my curious daughter's questions about the process.

Stacy brought the sound back to a lovely level. He explained what had been done. Very professional. Answered my questions. Will have him back on a regular basis.

I had a problem with somewhere on the piano resonating with certain keys. Had a tuner attempting to figure it out  to no avail. So I called the piano dealer and they recommended Stacy. He came out and found the loose parts in a very short time and fixed it. He also tuned the piano. I'll definitely stick with him for my piano services.

Everything went well - he was very professional, pointed out what we could realistically expect from a piano that old (i.e., made sure we didn't have unreasonable expectations).  He was very engaging and we talked a bit about pianos and how good they are for kids, etc.
One thing I was also impressed by - when I first called to make the appointment the day after I took possession of the piano, Stacy's wife (who answered the main phone line) said I really ought to wait about a month until the piano acclimates to the humidity in my house before tuning - otherwise it may go out of tune again quickly.  None of the other tuners I called said that - they were all ready to come right out.
We will definitely use Stacy for our next tuning.

Stacey is very professional and knows his pianos. Took care of this piano for its previous owner, a piano teacher who recommended him very highly.  He's prompt, knowledgeable and friendly. He's the only one I'd have take care of my piano!

We had on-going problems with our piano's practice pedal rail, and none of the four and quot;fixesand quot; made by two other tuners worked. Mr. Yoak arrived promptly, asked questions, and inspected the piano closely. He located what was most likely a factory error, something that two previous tuners had failed to diagnose. He clearly explained his proposed solution, which was to drill a new hole to move the pivot pin back to the proper location, a small circle which was still barely visible through the interior finish. He marked his drill bit to serve as a depth gauge, and after carefully removing the screw, he installed it into the correct hole. He vacuumed out the piano to remove any sawdust. He also adjusted the spring's angle and the other end of the rail. It works perfectly! His manner instilled confidence. I respect the fact that he refrained from speaking badly of the other tuners, but instead, spoke in their defense, of how unusual this problem was. He also quickly and efficiently adjusted our sustain pedal. We are very pleased with his service.
