Work was scheduled and they came at the promised time. They were very efficient and organized. Work was completed to my expectations. They left the areas they worked in clean as they were before.
This is the only electrician I will ever use again. I would highly recommend them to all.
They showed up the same day I called and on time. I told him about the problem and what the other person had done. This gentleman was quick and professional and in my opinion solved the problem in record time. He was very polite and professional. I was very happy with his work and the bill a rarity these days. I will be calling this company again next year when I upgrade the kitchen. To bad excellent is the best rating I can give.
I had tried to support our local electricians in the Jacksonville area, but John Star Electric Inc. and Onslow Electric Company failed to follow through with estimates or show up for scheduled work after the consult. Because they had high ratings on Angie's List for our area, I was unwilling to contact any more electricians from Jacksonville. I decided to look towards New Bern and Wilmington. After reading the reviews, I contacted Romero's Licensed Electrical Company in New Bern and scheduled a consult.
Our home is over 15 years old and has several problems with the wiring. Our main concern was a safety issue, the smoke detector was connected to the Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) located in the upstairs guest bathroom. On that same circuit, we had the front and back outside outlets, the master bathroom outlets, and the garage door opener. Those circuits needed to be separated. To make life easier, we wanted additional outlets outside, in our garage, next to our stove, and behind the entertainment center. We were also going to need a dedicated outlet in our crawl space to accommodate a dehumidifier in the near future. With the changes and additional circuits, we knew the circuit panel would need to be modified and circuits identified.
Mr. Romero arrived on time for the consult and was not deterred by the amount of work required. He answered all our concerns and explained how his team would complete the work. All of his recommendations would improve the wiring of our home without obvious traces of their work. He provided an idea of what to expect and a rough estimate of cost and time involved. The next day, I received an email with the official estimate and breakdown of cost.
We were extremely impressed with Mr. Romero's recommendation on wiring the dedicated outlet for the de-humidifier in the crawl space. The circuit panel is located in the garage on an outside wall. Mr. Romero suggested taking the wiring directly to through the outside wall from behind the panel, burry the wire in conduit taking it under a concrete sidewalk, and into the crawl space. Our consults with two other electricians suggested running PVC from the circuit panel, around our garage walls, and the down into the crawl space. Mr. Romero's recommendation was a more direct route that would conceal the addition, but require more manual labor.
On the day of work, Mr Romero's two man team showed up on time, went immediately to work, and completed the work ahead of our expectations. The smoke detector was taken off the GFCI and added to a reliable circuit. For the additional outlets at the stove and entertainment center, the guys made small holes in the drywall, fished the walls, and installed the outlets and new face plates. The drywall cuts were clean and the installation was inconspicuous. The additional circuit for the de-humidifier was burried without damage to our exterior walls or sidewalk without leaving a trace of the path used. After all the installations, the circuit panel was labeled. The men were very professional, polite, and focused on their work.
Romero's Licensed Electrical company is definitely worth hiring. I would have expected to pay more for the quality and amount of work completed. They did an awesome job!
I have worked in industry and saw right away that Mr. Romero paid attention to detail, while working quickly. The electrical plan produced by the general contractor was rather garbled but we got everything sorted out and installed cleanly. They moved some light switches, changed some lights to 3-way circuits, added GFI to outlet circuits, and significantly upgraded basement lighting. We had some difficulty with unclear measurements, and some of the general contractor's ideas proved unworkable. His crew worked well together and everyone on site was kept busy.
One of Mr Romero's electricians suggested a lighting arrangement for the kitchen which is very effective. This involved replacing old dim fixtures with new bright can lights, in an existing ceiling. The kitchen lights really look great.
Overall they did an outstanding job and I would recommend them highly.
