The receptionist, or possibly office manager, that answered the phone, was rude. I seriously doubt Dr Fred is aware of how she speaks to people. She could not answer my questions about education or certification needed to perform certain procedures in the veteranary office. I did not expect her to have the answers. She proceeded to tell me the office was not accepting new patients, or hiring, neither of which were relevent to our conversation. She did not offer to have the Dr. or a technician call me. I called again and spoke with a different person, who was polite and seemed to be taking my message and phone number, but I seriously doubt it was delivered. No one returned my call. Dr. Fred is a nice person, and great provider, but obviously oblivious to how his front desk staff treat the public.

The Doctors and staff helped turn a very serious situation into a huge blessing...they are absolutely the best!

Their service is fairly priced. My overall experience with them was fabulous. The veterinarian is very professional and caring. He is just very good, and he takes his time with his client.

As always, Dr. Knowles came into the treatment room and greeted me warmly, then asked some questions about my cat while he was examining her. His examination was very thorough, and he was very gentle with my cat throughout the exam and treatment. He explained everything he was doing, including the reasons for the injections, and told me what to expect over the next week to 10 days. Because I'm a long-standing customer, he already knew I was familiar with how to give oral (liquid) antibiotics, so he did not instruct me in that regard. When the visit was finished, he walked me to the waiting room door and told us goodbye. His manner with me is professional yet friendly; I feel very comfortable with him.
I currently have 3 cats, and a 4th that died a few years ago at the age of 19. Dr. Knowles has been their vet since 1998 when I moved to this area. I cannot imagine going to another vet; he is knowledgeable, experienced, and very compassionate - both to my cats and to me. He is honest; when my elder cat was suffering with kidney failure, he gave me an honest assessment of her chances and recommended comfort care rather than heroic measures. I've never regretted choosing Dr. Knowles, as I trust his skills and his advice completely.
His waiting room is almost always full, and yes, sometimes I've had to wait past my appointment to see him. I don't mind, because it's a testament to him as a veterinarian. His waiting room is crowded because his animal and human customers love him! And the waiting times are because he takes the time needed to treat each of his furry charges with the proper attention, instead of rushing them out.
I've also been very impressed with his fees, as they are extremely reasonable for the services performed. I've never felt like I was overcharged for anything, including spaying my youngest cat which included an overnight stay.
The staff member are also friendly, competent, and helpful.
Neuse Veterinary Clinic and Dr. Knowles are highly recommended!

My first dog died of old age, and we have been going there for awile. The staff was friendly and the price was high. The place is small and almost always overcrowded and far too noisy. The waiting area smelt bad, and it wasnt very clean. I dont recommend this place AT ALL.

Our dog had been misdiagnosed for so long by other clinics and hospitals. With in a week we were amazed at how well he was doing. Fantastic service and he is wonderful with the animals.
