I had a variety of work needed at my rental condo, which is in a different state that I live. Jim was excellent. Very trustworth, fair priced and conscientious. My wife met him only one time and new he was trustworthy. He performed a variety of work for us. What I especially liked is that he took extra care to make sure he communicated with us, Made us aware of issues that came up from time and left our condo in better shape than he found it. Jim was also cost conscious as he did not do anything more than what was needed. He even helped us with deliveries and kept tabs on other contractors. Very easy to work with. He will be a contractor of choice.

Everything was done with Jim's usual expertise and attention to detail. There is nothing he can't handle. He is a pleasure to have in our home and is always very respectful of our needs. He is a good problem solver and has a variety of options for us to choose among for getting things done. He is willing and able to attack any job around the house. He is always very careful of our home, removing his shoes to avoid bringing in dirt and cleaning up really well after every job. He has our highest recommendation.

We supplied the wood, Brazilian Cherry pre-finished strips which were hard and cutting to close tolerances.  looks beautiful

This was complex removed beach flooring and put in Brazilian Cherry. Price included material except the Brazilian cherry.

We recommend them. He’s on time, very thorough, professional, and does excellent job. We’ve had no problems with him. We like him. The next time we wanted him to do more but he couldn’t schedule it. We liked his work. The price was reasonable for the work he did.

All work was excellent and we are very happy with our ability to communicate with Jim and have him solve our problems.

Jim arrived on time.  He was friendly and professional.  He ask appropriate questions about the structure of the ceiling.  Which has been refinished with drywall over plaster making it difficult to find the studs.  Jim brought in his tools and laid out a drop cloth.  He was concerned with keeping his work area clean.  He looked at the pot rack and concluded the hooks that were shipped with the pot rack where not long enough to screw into the stud though the drywall and plaster.  Jim then went to Lowe's and came back with hooks that were longer and also matched the pot rack.  He then found the studs and hung the pot rack.  The entire job took less time than expected and under budget.

First off, I have to say that I am not a novice when it comes to remodeling; my husband and I bought a fixer-upper and have been working on it for the last five years, doing almost everything by ourselves. This master bathroom/walk-in closet was the last room in the house to be redone, and my husband was away and I couldn't do everything on my own. Needless to say, I wanted to do as much work as I could, and Jim was great about that, as weird as it must have sounded to him. I wanted him to do all the stuff that I couldn't (or didn't want to) do, like the sheetrock, the flooring, and of course the structural and electrical work. Jim traveled all the way from New Bern to Jacksonville every day for over a month to do this project, and I know it wasn't easy, but that is just the kind of guy he is. He worked really well with my plumber to get everything accomplished that I wanted, and all the work was done to my satisfaction. There were lots of surprises once the demo was complete, so the price was higher than he originally quoted me, but still within the range of my budget. Jim is a great guy, and was always looking out for me. I have an old house, and the previous work done on this bathroom was atrocious to put it kindly. He put up with all the crazy things we found behind the floors, walls and ceilings (like rotting wood, crazy bad construction, bad plumbing, a vent for the toilet that ran up to the roof through a column in the middle of the bathroom, unbelievable wiring, moldy and damaged subfloor, and more!), and fixed it all, and he even did it with a smile on his face. My bathroom and closet looks a thousand times better than what it used to before he came, and it would have been almost impossible for me to get this work done in any kind of decent time frame without his help. I was way out of my league! That bathroom was a hot mess. He even helped me out by fixing a light switch and installing trim in the guest bathroom that my husband didn't get to do before he left. Again, just a really personable, hardworking guy who loves his job. I highly recommend him.

The work is excellent. We could not be more pleased. Jim is a professional who knows how to handle material, carry out the design, and provide careful and complete work.
Jim worked with us all along the way, confirming details of what we wanted. He is very courteous and careful to minimize the impact of having construction carried out indoors, for example he cleans up his work area and tools every day. Jim respects his customer's home!
We plan on having Jim do more work for us in the near future.

     The work Mr. Coulson did was very good and I was really pleased with the finished product.      It took a couple of appointments for him to get to my home to do the estmate and then the first date set for doing the work had to be rescheduled because of a family emergency.   Which I know can happen to anyone.

This man is a real handyman.  There was nothing that I asked him that he could
not do.  
This is the 4th time I have had him here.  I cannot tell you the exact dates of
service but it was in 2011 and 2012.  The last time I had him was aug. 30, 2012.
He is extremely neat.  Has all of the equipment to keep dust out of the
rest of the house while he is working and each day, he cleans up his mess 
before he leaves.  He also did some yard work for me when he was not busy
with other jobs.  I would surely hire him again.
He removed some heavy logs for me from the hurricane, also.

Jim Coulson is a miracle worker. He is a perfectionist, and he explains everything, and answers questions. I trust him to give the best .work anywhere. He is very accurate and thorough.

He gave us a fair estimate for pressure washing our entire front porch and house. Also we were given an approximate time frame to do the job in which time he completed exactly as he predicted. We would definetly recommend him for anyone interested in his various services and would consider using him again for more work.

They were very good. They came right away and did the job beautifully. It was not overly expensive. I was very happy. He is a licensed contractor for North Carolina. I would use him again and I would recommend him.

I had lots of damage from the hurricane but did not have the funds to take care of things until March.  I called Mr. Coulson and hecame right over and gave me an estimate.  Went to work the next day.  He was very dependable and finished his work under his estimate.  I was very pleased with his work and recommended him to my neighbor.  They hired him and were extremely satisfied, also.I also recommended him to other friends who have hired him for other jobs.  They are very pleased.
