I was very pleased with my experience with Carolina Home Exteriors. Our job was difficult as we were replacing old windows on the 2nd floor and the home exterior is asbestos siding. Brian and Danny were wonderful. The job took longer than anticipated but that is because they had to be very careful working around the asbestos siding. Their work was top notch, excellent quality. They cleaned up beautifully every day, vacuuming debris and cleaning the new windows. They were very professional in their interactions with me throughout the week. In fact, I was so happy with the quality of the framing they were doing around the window exteriors, I asked them to do an additional job to frame the inside of a window in our bathroom that is going to be tiled soon. I would definitely recommend them and use them again.

We could not be more pleased by the initial assessments made by David Therault of our needs. Materials were ordered an obtained in a very timely fashion. The office staff was very helpful in meeting our needs. The crew arrived right on time as promised and could not have been more pleased with their professionalism and expertise. They were very nice people whose experience was displayed in every thing that they did for us. As some extra work we had asked for was less complicated the initially thought, our bill was immediately adjuster downward.

When David came we gave him a basic idea of what we were looking for. We wanted a screened in porch 14 x 14. As we only had a basic idea what we wanted he was great in making some suggestions to us. He suggested the EZ Breeze system which allows us to use the room for 3 seasons. We did not even know something like that even existed. We also wanted outside stairs and because of the logistics of electric meter, etc. David helped us design a stairway that would work for this porch. The job was started in a reasonable time from signing the contract (weather was not our friend). Once they began the work they quickly completed each stage for inspection. The workers were very professional and took care in their workmanship. They even worked in the rain a couple of times-not to mention blazing heat! David kept us informed of the work schedule and when to expect the inspector, etc. We are very happy with the porch and can't wait to start using it immediately.

Excellent responses and helpfulness from Dirk, and the workmen were very friendly, efficient and professional. There were a couple of "blips" that caused my windows to be installed about 3 weeks later than I had hoped, but all in all I'm very satisfied. They look beautiful!

This was not our first project with the company.  Our first experience was having some windows replaced.  That went well, so when we decided we wanted a screen room,  I gave them a call.  Their price seemed reasonable for the work, so we signed on..  All of the workers used by Carolina Home were considerate and capable.  They left the work area clean and seemed to be interested in making us very happy with our screen room.  They were open to changes as we went.  One was a sidewalk connecting the screen room to existing sidewalk at the side of the house.  Bob offered suggestions on joining the two to make it look professional and it does.  The screen room itself is 14x14 with a very tall vaulted ceiling.  Matching old shingles with new can be challenging, but they did a closer match than I thought might be possible and the roof area blends very nicely.  We expected the screen room would look good, but we were pleased beyond our expectations.  We supplied the ceiling fan and an outdoor light for the entry from the yard.  That worked very well since we could select exactly what we liked.  I was impressed when one of the workers who had accidently torn an existing house screen in the screen room area replaced the screen without being asked.  (We were going to take the screens down as soon as the room was finished).  The entire experience was pleasant.  Now we are looking forward to more spring days to get out and enjoy some sunshine and warm breezes.   I will continue to have the company do other jobs since they are fair, dependable, and do quality work.

They perform these tasks with great skill, and are very cautious. It is comforting to know these services are available by someone we can trust. The receptionist Wendy is just as cheerful and helpful as she can be.

They did good work, but we had to call several times to get a response. At first they put us off because we only needed a couple of panels re-screened, even though they had done the original work the previous year. While we were waiting for them to put us on their schedule some other screens failed. When we called back to then have them re-screen the entire porch, they were more responsive. Unfortunately they are the only company in our area that installs this particular screen system, so we will have to continue to use them, at least for now.

We decided to add a Carolina Room to our house so we
attended the New Bern Home Show. We met
three contractors and two came to inspect the house and determine the
feasibility of our concept. We wanted
the room built on the 30 x 16 ft deck which is the roof of our screened in
porch. We were impressed with the Sales
Manager for Carolina Home Exteriors (CHE), who not only knew everything about
the products they carried but what the construction process entailed and
recommended a room design that would complement our existing home.
Since the room would be built on an existing deck the CHE engineer,
designed the additional support needed to accommodate the additional weight and
the resolved the issues of tying the new room to the existing structure so it
looked like it was part of the original structure.
I am sure all of CHE construction crews are extremely
capable but the crew that worked on our project were superb. They brought the materials, started work
immediately, worked all day, cleaned up the worksite, home for the night then
back the next morning until it was finished.
Our existing deck railing has fairly wide pickets and we
wanted a less obstructed view of the canal so we worked with the President of
CHE, to find a stainless cable deck railing system that was reasonably
priced. We found a system that was about
half the price of most systems that is perfect for our application. This was their first installation of this
system and the construction crew put it up like they had been doing it for
years.
We have lived in many homes and had construction companies
do everything from minor repairs to major renovations and this was the most
impressive group of people we have ever worked with. Their depth of knowledge was impressive,
their willingness to work with the customer is all too rare, and their work
ethic left us in awe. We cannot
recommend them highly enough.

They were excellent and the job was done perfectly.  They followed up and cleaned up after their work.  No negatives.  They were one of the best contractors we've ever used.

Started the work as scheduled. I wished that I could have had an itemized statement of everything that was done, but seemed to just be an overall cost even as I needed some extra things done, I was just told this would cost X amount more to do that. I had some extra supplies in my garage that I was told would be taken off my bill, but I never knew if it was or not because of the way the pricing was done. I had composite decking put down right before the project was started and it had to be covered over on the sunroom part because of the openings between the composite boards wasnt practical for a sunroom that was enclosed. So we decided the only other thing to do was to cover it with a thick plywood which they did but the finishing of the floor was left up to me. I thought they should have at least finished the floor for the price the whole room cost me. Overall they did an excellent job and cleaned up everything after the job was done, even some other supplies I had left over from a roofing job I had done previously from another company.

Dave kept us informed at all times and, once construction began, stopped by from time to time to check on the progress. His work crew showed up on site each and every day -- you could almost set your clock by their arrival! They worked together well and they worked hard all day. I cannot emphasize enough how great the crew was. Two guys working in the hottest summer on record -- days when it got to a 115 heat index, and they never took a break. We learned early on that these guys were experienced and knew exactly what they were doing ... and doing it to perfection. Dave kept us informed all along the way. At certain steps during the construction process, approval from the City was reqiured, and each and every time, the work passed inspection. I was stunned that at the end of every work day, they broom swept the porch area and neatly cleaned up their work site. Since a roof was being constructed over the screened porch (which required cutting into our existing roof), they were very aware of the weather forecast, and timed it so that we had no worries.
In short, I would hire this company again in a heartbeat!! Exceptional work at an exceptional price!!!
