I was one of those idiots that was duped by a support phone call and locked up my system with their password. Since I refused to proceed and pray them I ended up with a locked up system. 21st Century succeeded in finding their lookup in an encrypted registry entry, fixed that and removed any other malware that they could find with their scans. I then requested them to replace the existing drive (300gb) with a larger drive (500gb) and restore with a backup a couple months older. The total charge includes the price of the new drive and all the time they spent in trying to clean up the old drive's OS installation. In my opinion the service was excellent, they explained everything they were doing to fix the old drive, and the final charge was more than fair. They also installed a remote help to their service which I have used twice when subsequent support issues needed their assistance. They were able to help remotely so I didn't have to bring the laptop in for their help.
