It went not well at all----I made reservations inMay for my dog to board for one night on 9/6/15.  I confirmed the appt on 25 Aug 2015.  Yesterday (on 9/4/15) when I went there to buy cat food, I noticed a sign, poorly displayed and not readable, on the door, that said they were closed on 9/6/15.  No one had told me.  I asked and they said I would need to board my dog two nights---for twice the cost and they laughed that I had nt been informed, the staff found it amusing.  Today I went to drop my dog off for his two night  stay, which I was not happy about, and as I walk in there is a new poorly displayed sign...they close on Monday (9/7/15)an hour before I was scheduled to pick up my dog. I specifically had asked when I made the reservations in May 2015 for this Sept stay and when I confirmed it 10 days ago -if they would be open until 7 pm as I could not get back to town before then. I have arrangements for medical care 300 miles from here and cannot get back before 6 or 7pm....the staff shruggd their shoulders implying "oh well"...so now I was to leave my dog for three nights - for over $150 dollars instead of the planned one night.  I am very very concerned about leaving my dog there fore 3 nights, it is very stressful there for him.  Additionally the staff has displayed an attitude of not caring about the impact on the pet or owner - they are clearly only concerned about themselves.  This place recently changed ownership and the new owner's business attitude is apparently one that does not consider the client .  the staff is all millennials clearly with the "it is a only about me" attitude.  The "heck with it all its a holiday" disregard for the clients is very scary.  I am extremely disappointed and shocked to see this change of professionalism and quality of service at this vet. I have taken 4 pets there over the years and I would expect to be treated much better than this.  if there was anyway I could cancel my trip I would but it would cost me a thousand dollars to do so, which of course Grace Park does not care about.
Response from Grace Park Animal Hospital
"Thank you for your input regarding your last experience with us. I am deeply sorry for the way you were made to feel and I apologize for the miscommunication on our part regarding our revised lobby hours for the holiday. We have made adjustments to our scheduling process for boarding to be sure that we do not make this error again. As I mentioned when we spoke, our management has not changed, nor has our staff. Dr. Strunck has been an owner/managing partner of Grace Park since we opened in 2008. The same owner, doctors, management and staff are all still here. I thank you for your input. We will use this experience as a training tool for the future. Best regards, Amy Strunck"

A stray dog was dropped off in the neighborhood on June 9th. She was a small white dog that was not friendly towards people and did not show any interest in food. After taking her to two other vets in Cary for shots and estimates to try to get her feeling better, I took her to CareFirst. Due to not knowing her age, a potential adoptive family backed out of getting her due to her condition. She badly needed her teeth cleaned and extractions. My vet, at the time, does not do dental X-rays. I was concerned of the cost . Howeveand since I was told up to 10 extractions needed; I also did not want any unnecessary teeth pulled. No one would want a pet that is acting so sickly so I decided to have CareFirst do her teeth cleaning. After getting her teeth taken care of, she has been eating and acting much better. After verifying with an X-rays, a total of 4 needed to be removed. All, but one was simple extractions. One had an infection in the root. She still has a small tumor on her belly which Carefirst helped us figure a plan to get this taken care of soon, as well. Today, she is a different dog.... Very happy and showing much more of a personality... Still afraid of people, but doing better each day! Thanks to Carefirst!

Everyone on staff was very compassionate and friendly. Yoda usually does not take to strangers; but he was very at ease with everyone at CareFirst. Dr. Strunck was very good about explaining the diagnosis in detail as well as the intended treatment.

The doctors and staff are so friendly. They will even call you the next day to check and see how your pet is doing after the visit.

They are passionate about caring for animals. They all say Hi to our dog and come over to pet him when we come in. They sit on the floor with him when he is in for a vet visit. Came in after hours when he was injured. Very caring staff.

At the previous place that he was boarded he acted scared and had potty issues when he came back home. When he boards at CareFirst, he's sleepy but well behaved when he comes home. It's also great that they can take care of any of his medical needs while he's there boarding.

Dr. Strunck is very understanding, good with handling your pets, very gentle and very empathetic as to be expected with veterinarians. I have been using him for almost a year now since he moved here. When Care First Animal Hospital first moved here they offered a coupon that you can use when you visit them and I took advantage of that, and from then on I always take my 3 cats to there. Their price are reasonable, I had been going to another vet and it was a lot more expensive, and I don't think there's a big difference, although I like Dr. Strunck better.

I think that they really push their products that they sell. I think that the examination was fine. I got the feeling that they are more interested in making money than the pets.

I recently switched to this vet as I needed someone closer to my house than my previous vet.

Dr. Strunck reviewed all of our dogs records which was numerous given he has canine lymphoma and has been undergoing chemo therapy for a year. My dog is almost 11 so he is developing Arthritis in his hips. Dr. Strunck took the time to call our Vet-Oncologist to pick the correct pain medication to help our dog with the pain. He then followed up by finding a local pharmacy which could create the special dosage of the medication.

Overall things went well. They allowed early morning drop-off and called when our dog was ready.
Cost is a bit higher than the groomers at PetsMart but the location is convenient.

They all are veterinarians, so we love to take our pets there for boarding. Their facility is very clean. We feel that the personnel are very caring. They are kind to their customers as well as the animals. Our pets are happy to go there. Even when we take our pets for a routine veterinarian care, we feel very comfortable. This is the third time we used them for boarding. One thing that we don't like is they charge extra for more outdoor playtime for the dogs and it is pretty expensive and they don't offer any discount for the second pet. We are happy with the facility and the quality of care they give them. I would use them again in the future too if needed.

Veterinarians and staff very kind, professional and courteous. Only comment is would like to see more of a multiple pet discount on services, especially with boarding where there is currently no discount for 2nd dog. The only discount for 2nd pet currently provided is on the office visit.

We have recently moved to the area from out of state and have been very satisfied with this CareFirst location. In the last 3 months we've taken our pet (dog) for the following services Initial physical exam for pet (dog) after moving to the area. Diagnosis and treatment for conjunctivitis Diagnosis and treatment for kennel cough Got Bordatella vaccination for pet (dog) Grooming (bath and nail trim) Day care for pet (dog) It is a fairly new place and the availability for grooming and other vet appointments is great. They don't have large outdoor play area (for daycare), but thre kennels are very clean and well kept place with professional and friendly staff. We would highly recommend this place.
