DO NOT USE Carolina Auto Spa
I take pride in keeping my car in pristine condition. On July 16, 2014, I brought my black 2012 accord into Carolina Auto Spa for a wash at the Cary location, went through the wash and parked at the gas station next door. I began to dry off my car when I noticed extra surface scratches that were not there before. I continued to dry off the top of my vehicle when I then saw a 3 inch white scratch that could not be removed with the microfiber towel. That bugged me, but it was on the top of the car and not noticeable from afar. I continued drying off the vehicle and when I got to the doors I saw another white scratch, this one was longer, darker and deeper. I immediately stopped drying and went right back to Carolina Auto Spa to point out the damage they caused.
I spoke with the assistant manager, she took down notes on my complaint and requested my telephone number. I did not have my phone on me and just got a new number so we agreed I would call her back with that information when I got home. The automated phone system transferred me directly to the manager. I explained to him I had two concerns in regards to his business, the first was what had happened to my car and without him seeing the damage he was disinterested and not concerned with my complaint. He continued to tell me that it's impossible his car wash did the damage, they have high end vehicles like Maseratis go through all the time so there is no way the wash did it. He already had his mind made up that his business was not responsible. My second concern was that I was getting charged for the $30 month plan, but have only been getting the $12 month service. He asked me to come in tomorrow so he could address my concerns.
The next day I went in to speak with the manager. Before he saw the damage he reiterated that it was impossible for the wash to cause damage and they can't take responsibility. I asked him if it wasn't the wash what does he think it was. He said it "looks like somebody walked by the car and scraped it", so I asked him why I had the same exact scratch on my roof and he had no answer, then he said "they are not the same scratch", He reiterated that it's impossible for the car wash to do this damage and that Maseratis go through the wash all the time. After his denying the damage and not taking responsibility for the damage he proceeds to tell me he can refer me to "a guy" they use when things like this happen. (Even though it's impossible for his wash to do these scratches, they have "a guy")
We then addressed the $30 charge for $12 of work, he fixed that on the computer and said it's ok for me to run my car through. I informed him I was not interested in using his services and to refund my payment, which I have yet to see come through.
Unfortunately, Carolina Auto Spa damaged my car and their customer service was one of the worst experience I've had as a customer of any business. I am disappointed how my situation was handled and now have a constant reminder of 2 white scratches on my once all black car. I was billed the wrong amount and as far as them being insured, something was not disclosed clearly or was misrepresented.
I attempted to resolve the problem but since a Honda is not a Maserati, I guess I'm not deserving of quality service. If you like how your car looks, DO NOT USE Carolina Auto Spa.

UPDATE: The owner called me first thing this morning. 5/19. He apologized and offered a further discount. They were very responsive to what had happened to us. I will use them again.

excellent reviews and ratings. The icing
on the cake was how understanding they were of what we needed and in offering
suggestions that would best meet our needs.
After a grocery shopping trip a whole chicken rolled under
the back seat and that is where we found it about a week later!
We tried everything to get the smell out but nothing worked. When I called and explained our situation they assured me that they could take care of the problem and if need be had several different ways to tackle it.
It worked and it was a pleasure doing business with Carolina
Auto Spa. This car shines like a new
penny inside and out and smells wonderful!
Our Technician Randy West did an outstanding job! We will call them again.
