They were very efficient. They inspected the entire roof and made repairs to items which could have become problem spots if not cared for. The business owner recommended rain diverters on a few spots instead of gutters due to the slope of the property. This was a fraction of the cost of new gutters and a much better option for my home. These guys are aces!

Well, it's complicated. A Howard and Sons employee showed up on 8/12/13 to perform the attic fan install after purchasing the special on Angie's List. However, after a quick inspection of the attic and a discussion with me, the employee explained the cost of this service would be drastically more expensive since there was no existing electrical service in the attic to tie into for the fan. I was a bit disappointed that this had not been mentioned as a potential cost in the fine print of the Angie's List deal. During out conversation, I was also disappointed to hear there would be additional charges because our roof was certain pitch. Again, I had not anticipated this additional cost from what I had read in regards to the Angie's List special for this service. I was contacted the next day by Matthew Howard and he explained that they had perhaps been a bit too hasty in putting the deal together for Angie's List but was attempting to figure out how to make it up to customers who had purchased this special. He offered we could either get a refund or we could consider a solar powered attic fan, which would avoid the additional costs of the wiring needed for a traditional attic fan. He was also willing to drop the charge for the roof pitch since it wasn't clearly stated in the details of the Angie's List offer. I decided to look at solar attic fans on Home Depot's website, as suggested by Mr. Howard. He explained he'd need to order one once I picked it out. I found one I liked and sent him the link, and we then discussed what additional costs the fan would represent over the original deal. After some back and forth, we've still not settled on a price, although a final bill in the $600 range was mentioned. The ball is currently in my court and I will be contacting Mr. Howard to get this project moving once again and see if I can get the upgraded solar fan installed before winter. 7/17/14 - The solar roof fan was installed last November after several attempts to agree on a date. While the crew was cleaning up a tool was dropped off the roof onto my new Trex deck. Didn't see the damage at the time, but this spring the chuip revealed itself. We noticed that the protective plastic cling wrap was never removed from the face of the solar panel. I placed several calls with Mr. Howard who said someone would be over to remove it, but they never showed and I've given up trying to correct that mistake. I'm disappointed they aren't more concerned with righting this issue post-sale then they have been.

The job went very well and done according to the contract Mr. Howard provided. The crew worked long and hard and finished this large roofing job on time. I liked the fact that when a problem was discovered, Mr. Howard stopped work, showed me the problem, gave me the options and quoted a fair price. After the project was completed, his crew did a wonderful job of clean up. I was amazed that they even removed nails that were stuck between the floor boards on my deck. You would not even know a new roof project was done. Clean as a whistle. Mr. Howard called me a few days after completion of the job and after a heavy rain storm to check with me for any problems or leaks.

I ordered the deal and was contacted the next day. An appointment was setup. Upon arrival Jonathon measured the roof and declared it was 39 square and would require an additional $5700. We did not believe the roof to be this large (still don't actually) and cannot afford the additional expense. I informed Jonathon that I could not afford this and would not be proceeding with the work.

Excellent work. They went above and beyond my expectations. Great company with hard workers. Will use again for future projects.

Shingles that seemed to have mold on them, caulked around chimney and roof flashings, reshingled some loose shingles, and tarred around a roof portion that had a leak. They took before pictures on their cell phone and showed the problem areas to me before I authorized the additional work--it all came to $1,168 and they were done in one morning. The only problem I had was they said they would email me an itemized statement of all work done but I never received it. Evidently they have a way of sending it through the Angie's list website but I didn't know that. After a few phone calls to them they showed up on 9/17/13 and gave me a hard copy of the itemized bill. There is a 1 year warranty on all work performed. All in all I am satisfied with the work done. They were very courteous at all times.

We noticed a leak in the ceiling of the entryway at our townhouse. I called Howard and Sons and Matt (the owner) was over to the house within 20 minutes. He and his crew checked out the roof. They found that the seam between two roofs had a leak in it and they caulked all the way up the length of the seam. After they were finished they cleaned out the gutters as a courtesy. We found them to be very responsive, knowledgeable, and professional. We manage over 150 properties and Howard and Sons is on the top of our list of roofers.

Matthew Howard came to my house to fullfill his roofing advertisement in your websire. He told me the cost would be $700.00 depending on what was needed to be done and proceeded to check out what needed to be done. I told him I suspected I had some roofleaks and I also had water entering in my basement via a pipe on my roof. He came back into my houseand instead of telling m e what needed to be done he said he did everything that needed to be done. He said he fixed everything and my roof was in good condition. He charged me $900.00 plus the $88.00 down payment. I was floored by his price, but couldn't do anything about it because he already did the work although I did not tell him to. I told him I needed an itemized statement outlining everything he did. He said no problem and he would send it to me in three days. That was August 14th and it is now Sept. 9th and I have not seen or heard from him. We have had some rainy days since and my roof still leaks in all the places I told him about and which he claimed to have fixed. Please advise what I can do. I am a widow and retired on a fixed income and his charge has caused me a hardship and my roof still needs to be repaired. I cannot hire an attorney and relied on your list to hire an honest and experienced professional. I cannot contact the service provider because he gave me no receipt or written copy of anything with information on how to reach him. He is not in any of my phone books. Please tell me how I can locate him or send me his address or phone number. Thank you for any help you can give me. UPDATE: I will know for sure next time it rains. Suspect he managed to correct all problems. I gave him a bad review in August because my roof still leaked and I didn't know how to reach him. They came today and spent time taking care of every thing they found which could possibly cause a leak. They were thorough!! Matthew assured me they would return if problem still existed.

I called Mr.Howard at 10 at night with an emergency. I needed to get a section of my roof fixed because I had just realized it was leaking into my attic. Mr. Howard fit me in for 7 this morning. I later found out that even with a family emergency (his wife is in the hospital) Mr. Howard still managed to arrive on time with his workers. My roof was looked at and everything was explained to me thoroughly. The workers, Richard and Adam were very clean and professional. When the job was done, everything was cleaned up completely and my roof looks beautiful. I could not be happier.

I bought an Angie's Deal on Thursday night,spoke with Mr Howard on Friday morning and the job was completed Friday afternoon. The job was to clean my gutters and inspect my roof. This was a job that I really needed done and had no one to do it! I am thrilled that my gutters are cleared and I am having him come back to give me a roofing estimate . Thank you Angie's List !!!

He and his helper came on time. I got on the roof with him and he went over everything and was very straightforward about my options regarding roof care. Cleaned my gutters and gave me an estimate for a roof replacement, which I felt was in line.. Overall professional, listened, answered questions and concerns pointed out areas where problems are most likely to occur.

He and his workers were prompt, professional, efficient and courteous. Work was done well, and he and his staff made sure my needs were considered when scheduling to complete the work.

I was unable to use the big deal due to the company not responding to any of my calls. There was no communication.

Great! I bought this Big Deal yesterday and this afternoon received a call from Matt Howard. He said he had people in the area and if I was available he could send someone to perform the work today. Within the hour, Richard was at my door. He set up his ladder, cleaned the gutters, checked the roof and made a minor repair to the gutter over my garage. He asked if I'd noticed any flow problems and I had not. He told me the debris in the gutters was primarily leaves and some sand from the shingles. He noticed a few damaged shingles in the back but nothing that needed immediate attention. He also mentioned that the company installs gutter helmets at $7 a foot. There was no hard sell. Richard was very professional and cleaned away the leaves, etc. Judging by Matt's quick service and Richard's professionalism, I would not hesitate to use Howard & Sons again.

I purchased the Big Deal for roof inspection and tune-up and the next day I started getting calls and emails to set up an appointment. Which was fine, except I didn't actually own the house yet, so I told them I'd call back when I did. Finally set up an appointment for this past weekend. They were 30 minutes late with no phone call; when I called they said they were addressing emergency work elsewhere. I didn't have to be home for the inspection, so I left to run errands. They called while I was out, and the owner (I think) proceeded to tell me how the house's 5 year old roof was terrible and was only going to last another 3-5 years. He also said they nailed down some shingles. When I got back, I saw a bunch of loose nails on the roof. Not sure if they were there prior to inspection or not, but either way they could've removed them while they were up there. Overall, I felt the inspector to be a little pushy, and wondered if the accompanying Big Deal for a $6000 roof had anything to do with it.

Price was reasonable. Showed up on time and installed the attic fan.No leaks so far. Spliced wires to the fan from a light circuit which I thought was strange.
