We had TW Ammons out earlier this year to take care of a leach field leak issue. We paid them almost $3,000 for their service. We also had more of the same issues following their remedy. We called back numerous times to get them back out and they always stated they were busy and would get back out when they could. Fast forward to end of year when we call them again, which they do not recall us ever calling. (poor communication between son and dad). Now they are insistent that is is our fault. Very poor customer service! They DO NOT STAND BEHING THEIR WORK!

I have never posted a bad review on any company but our experience has been so bad that I feel like it is my duty to warn people. We had a new and very expensive system installed by TW Ammons Septic Service, INC. about 2 years ago. We have had problems with the connector from the tank to the leach field and this last time we reached out to have them come out and service the consistent problem. I spoke to Aaron the son of Tim Ammons several times over a 2 week period. I also left several messages saying that I work at home and they could come by any time. We had raw sewage running through our yard and we have a dog and grandchild to consider. The times I talked to Aaron, he forgot everything I had told him before. It was if we had never talked. Always blaming his father for us not being on the schedule and saying he couldn't tell me when they could come out until he talked to Tim. Of course we never heard back. We finally called a company out of Winston Salem that told us that this was a health hazard and an emergency and should have been handled by the installer the first day they were notified. He was here within an hour and fixed the problem. If Tim or Aaron ever tell you that they stand behind their work and will take care of you, this is just not true. I am a business owner myself and have always hesitated to post any bad reviews but this is unacceptable, unprofessional, unsanitary and a health issue.

I had a good experience with them.  I was happy with the service they provided.  I thought their price was reasonable and we were happy with them.  I liked that it's not a large corporation and the owner was very hands-on.

Ammons came quickly but sold us a bill of goods. Had to get this new TeraLift service. The answer to all our problems. We paid for it all to be done. Soon after the work was completed my septic alarm went off. We called and made the adjustments he suggested. However the yard was still getting soaked. Alarm went off again and wouldn't reset. The pump had burned out. He came out and changed the pump for $1000!!! Then when he was there we found 2 more leaks in the lines. These were the lines that the county asked to be checked and any repairs made. He said he would be back the next week to fix them. Now he "texts" and says that it will cost $550 + $150 after the FIRST HOUR minimum for him to come out and fix my leaks, What does that tell you???? Beware. He will come out and sell you a lot - but no service on the back end. Very disappointing.

Mr. Ammons and his team came out on short notice when a problem was detected in our system because a tree service's truck ran over the collector box. It was important for us to get it fixed because we were going to have to be out of town within a couple of days. As they assessed the problem they found that the distribution box and the lines in our drain field were totally filled with roots. His team got to work on it immediately that morning and worked until after dark using lights from their tractor to give the vision. They kept me updated all day long on what they found and showed me the problems encountered. They stuck with it until the problem was fixed and their work was top notch. They were also very professional and personable. We've had TW Ammons out to do work on our system before, and he's done work on our neighbor's house, too. In every case the work has been done promptly and professionally at a very reasonable price. I would highly recommend this service without hesitation.

Mr. Ammons called ahead to let me know he was on his way and when to expect him.  When he arrived at my home, my husband explained what we were experiencing.  Mr. Ammons took his time to talk about the problems and possible solutions and how much everything would cost.  He was extremely nice and very professional.  I was told he would not charge more than $300.00 to "explore" the area and see what he could uncover, he also told me this over the phone when I was previously setting up the appointment.  Spent two hours digging, investigating, and pumping compressed air into ground.  Unfortunately, he discovered the problem was coming from a seepage pit, which are now illegal, and that there was not anything he could do to fix the problem. However, he offered his advise and gave suggestions on what to do.  Highly recommend!!!  Especially after calling with and dealing with several other septic companies who were unresponsive and not very helpful.

Tim and his helper came out the same day I called.  He stayed late, until the job was finished.  Cleared out some clogged lines and made sure the system was operating properly again.

It went very well. They handled all of our problems and we got it under control. They were very good at explaining exactly what they thought was the problem. They were pretty efficient at not digging at my yard too much. They just tried to make sure they got the problem taken cared of.

I purchased house in Matthews, NC 1 1/2 years ago and know little about septic tanks. T W Ammons was patient with me to discuss the problems with my septic tank on the phone beginning several weeks prior to me scheduling for service. He arrived on time, welcomed me while working on septic tank and kept me well informed throughout the day. He and his assistant worked hard from 10 AM to 4 PM. He made several good suggestions about how to properly maintain septic tank and wrote these suggestions on his invoice.

The day after Christmas (12/26/2012) we noticed a pool of liquid on the ground near our septic tank, adjacent to the lower end of our driveway. I called T.W. Ammons, in part because I liked the Yellow Pages ad: "Family owned and operated for over 26 years," "Owner on site from start to finish," "Effective and inexpensive," "Licensed and Insured," AND it even included three different NC licenses with license NUMBERS,
Mr. Ammons was very helpful: He recommended that we start by pumping the tank, because that might be sufficient to fix the problem. Ammons doesn't provide septic pumping services (they focus on repairs), but he recommended another company (Lefler-Stuart), provided their contact information, and said he'd be glad to help if we still had a problem after pumping.
Gerald Lemmonds, owner of Lefler-Stuart (in Charlotte), said he could come the following morning. He arrived at the specified time and after digging around, diagnosed a broken septic lift pump in the effluent tank, which would require repair/replacement by Ammons. (He said we did not need to pump the septic tank itself at that time, but recommended we do so in 6 months to a year -- even though he could easily have recommended immediate septic pumping, too, and charged for that as well.) With our approval, he contacted Mr. Ammons with all the specifics, and then drained (pumped out) the effluent tank to provide access for Ammons.
Tim Ammons arrived within about an hour. He replaced the lift pump and float switch, repaired the alarm switch, closed everything up, replaced all the soil and tidied up. He left his card with contact information in case there were any problems, but we have not had to use it in the two and a half months since then.
Mr. Ammons (like Mr. Lemmonds) was thoroughly helpful, prompt, efficient, pleasant and courteous. Both recommended steps to minimize the expense, rather than selling us services we did not need. Mr. Ammons's fee was mostly the cost of the pump itself, and relatively little for time and labor. We can highly and enthusiastically recommend T.W. Ammons Septic Service Inc.
