Ed and his team did a great job on the work we agreed to and were very flexible as we added more projects to the original job along the way. They were thorough in their work and did a great job cleaning up and putting everything back together afterwards. We will definitely use this company again.

We had Ed come out to paint the trim in our house and were very pleased.  He was on time, very polite and professional.  He and his crew did a great job on the trim.  He even caulked around all of the molding, which may be standard practice for painting trim, but was a pleasant surprise to me.  He left minimal mess and was reasonably priced.  We will be calling Ed again.

We called and outlined out requirements on the phone and asked for an estimate. The owner, Ed Bjorgen, came out the next day, made a quick and thorough survey, and gave us a quote on the spot. He impressed us with his obvious competence and we accepted the proposal immediately and set up a date to do the work the following week. Ed and his crew came at the appointed time and set up. This meant moving furniture , covering carpets, wood floor, and furniture where appropriate. Everyone understood his job and went about doing it in a workmanlike manner. Correct paint and all the correct tools were immediately available. When finished, everything was put back the way they found it. Clean-up was thorough and unobtrusive.
.Perhaps a more important aspect of working with Mr. Ed's Painting is that working with Ed is easy and confidence inspiring. He a good guy and a professional craftsman

Mr Ed was recommended to us by two friends. I was a little apprehensive after reading the previous reviews on Angies list. His quote was right in line with 4 others and he seemed very knowledgeable about the work we wanted to have done. He made several recommendations that turned out to be right on. His recommendation for paint solved a color problem we were having.
We gave him the job and are very happy with the work he and his talented crew have done. They were on time, communication was very good and they took care to protect our property while they did the work.
We will be having them back in a few weeks to help with the next phase of our painting project.
Ed explained his side of the previous reviews and took responsibility for some of what was noted. One thing the other reviews had right was Ed is a good guy.

It went very well, was neat and they removed furniture in the way, covered them and replaced everything back where it went and was done in a very timely matter. I would use them again!!!

Mr. Ed called to say he was delayed on a project, he would start two days later than planned. He then call back two days later and said it would be another week, he must have taken another project in between. He came on time to start, the project took 1.5 days. He left blue paint marks on my brand new hardwood floors in the half bath, the downstairs hallway and on a handmade wood piece upstairs. He also outlined a slant on the wall to the ceiling with a brush and then rolled the inside - we can see a difference in shade. We called him to come and repaint the wall to the ceiling and told him about the paint marks on the wood floor. He was to come back on Saturday, we waited all morning, no call, no show. I called back and he said he was away on a trip and would call when he returned, never heard from him again. We asked him to use Benjamin Moore paint, which he did. Went to the paint store to buy more blue for the garage and found out he used and quot;apartmentand quot; grade paint - believe he should have asked us what level grade we wanted to use, even if it was more money as the cost is the labor not the paint. Very disappointed.
Response from Mr. Ed's Painting
"She is right I did delay the job. The first delay was due to the job, that I was on, took longer. Which I told her was the case. The second delay was due to a scheduling conflict with a builder who needed me to get his house closed on time so the new owners could move in. Which again I made Sabine aware of the situation. Also the job was 1200.00 not 1800.00. I did go out of town that Saturday, but I did send one one of men to make things right. However he didn't show up. This I take responsibility for. I apologize. The blue paint was Sherwin Williams. If $30.00 per gal is apartment grade paint then I'm shocked. Her comment is just not true. Ben Moore didn't have the right base at that time, for the blue paint so yes, I used Sherwin Williams to finish the job. I should have told the homeowner. I'm sorry about that. I won't make that mistake again. What she saw on the angled wall in the bonus room is brushing up against rolling. Brushing looks smooth by comparison and reflects light differently and can appear to be a different color. The light shows this more readily due to the angle of the wall. We always brush around the ceiling and then roll the walls. I will do what is necessary to rectify this situation. I do not get on Angie"s list very often, but I will from now on. I apologize for any inconvenience, and don't have an excuse for not returning to fix it, other than I forgot. If permitted I will make restitution where needed. Thank you for you comment as we strive to be fair, and do a good job. Ed Bjorgen, Mr. Ed's Painting."

Nice enough guy and we thought the estimate was fair, but we were very, very disappointed with the quality of work. We had the entire house painted inside (ceilings and walls). Most surfaces look as if a 5 year old painted them. There are drip marks everywhere, and no clean lines between ceiling and wall color (sprayed the ceilings, but then got a good inch of trim color on ceilings). Walls that needed to be prepped or stripped of wallpaper were not done properly. We have uneven and splotchy walls everywhere in the house. Areas where he sprayed, he left a mess -- we have paint splatter all over every single vent in the house and the fireplace hearth. He was to paint my closet, and I told him he didn't need to paint the ceiling in the closet. His idea of painting the closet was to spray the walls and get wall color all over the ceiling. Not exactly what I had in mind when I told him the ceiling was fine...now it's not fine.We contacted him to come back and do touch ups, but since we had paid in full (in good faith, thinking he'd be back), he never responded to come back. Truth be told, there are just too many areas to touch up. We'd have to move everything out of the house to have him fix the job. And, if he can't paint professionally without getting drip marks everywhere, I think we'd only have more of a mess if he had come back to and quot;fixand quot; things. This contractor also left all of his trash (paper coverings and debris) for us to clean up. I had to take 10 large contractor bags of junk to the dump. He and his crew also left their fast food trash and cups all over the house. Very unprofessional.
Horrible quality...stay away.
Response from Mr. Ed's Painting
"I was hired to repaint this house not to refurbish it. I wasn't hired to strip any thing, if so the price would have been much higher. They're many existing coats of paint on these walls, all of which were done very poorly. My men and I used an orbital sander on the walls before painting, and without grinding holes or ripping out the walls entirely, there isn't much you can do on a limited budget. There were other contractors in this house as well, all at the same time. Carpet was going in, holes were being cut in the walls by electricians, the windows were being replaced, a new wall was being built with crown molding and a door, none of which was completed while I was there. I painted what was there without charge. I was told the vents were to be replaced because they were either rusty or just plain nasty. An inch of paint on the ceiling, just not true. I did spray the ceiling in the master closet, as you can see by the photo. I offered to paint the walls more than once, but was turned down. She saw what it looked like when I was there. As a result of all the other contractors in at the same time, we touched up after them without charging another cent. The trash for the most part was mine, I take responsibility for it. The food trash was a culmination of all the contractors. We didn't eat inside the house, only in the garage. The cabinet drawer does have paint on it's side but remains closed at all times. I've never had anyone complain about that before. I guess there's always a first. I'm sorry they didn't feel the experience was a good one for them. I'll admit our communication could have been better, through out the whole process, but I am not entirely to blame. We at Mr. Ed's Painting strive hard to please our customers, and will continue to do so. Thank you, Ed Bjorgen"
