This company is a scam operation. I received a bid for purchase and installation of engineered wood flooring for 1300 sf (the bulk of my house). The owner of the company, Aaron Zarbaugh, came to my house on May 28, 2013, measured my house, submitted a bid for $6288.39 (wood and labor) and drew up a contract for services to be rendered. I was to make a down payment with the remainder due after completion of the project. Even though they were not on Angie's list and I could only find one review on them (on yellowpages.com), I decided to use them due to price. Due to my schedule and other projects I had going on, I scheduled installation to be performed on July 11-12, 2013. Beginning on Monday, July 8, I begin trying to get in touch with Aaron via a phone and email to confirm that the installation would be going forward as planned. It wasn't until July 10th, that I heard from him, via email from someone claiming to be his brother, who said that Aaron had been in a car wreck and asked if I could reschedule and that he should be back on his feet in 2 weeks. I rescheduled for August 15 - 16, 2013 as between my work schedule and going on vacation, I couldn't schedule any sooner. About 2 weeks before the installation was to happen, I heard from Aaron, asking if he could bring the wood to my house because he had some work going on at his business and didn't have room to store it. He also stated that I would need to pay the remainder for the wood. I said that would be fine. When he brought the wood by, he also brought the person, Jacob, he said would be installing the wood. As soon as they left, I began questioning the amount that was left. I finally was able to determine that this was only half the amount needed for my project. In addition the wood was not the color I had ordered and based on my research was inferior quality. When Jacob came on August 15th to install, I questioned him about the quantity of wood. He confirmed that it wasn't enough and said that he was told that the job was for that amount of flooring. Jacob also told me that Aaron was on the run from the law and that the company was actually owned by Aaron's wife, Melissa, and that Aaron had been taking money from the company. At this point, I felt that I couldn't trust anyone involved with this operation, so I would not allow Jacob to install the flooring (what would be the point since it wasn't nearly enough). I will be contacting the NCDOJ and BBB regarding this company. Please learn from my mistake and stay as far away from this company as you can. I'm out of money that I paid this company with very little to show for it, the time that I took off from work for the installation, plus boarding fees for my dog (I was having her board while installation was going on).
