Damaged wood desk top. E&P agreed to resurface a desk top that was damaged. Despite assurances from E&P that on-site repairs would be just like factory finished work, the new wood surface has already bubbled up from the wood underneath due to what appears to be foreign objects underneath. Seams where the pieces of veneer meet were over-sanded and damaged, and in some spots have wide gaps. Problems caused by use of materials we didn't t order or approve/ The cabinet doors and drawers were made from a type of wood that did not match the rest of the cabinets. E&P ordered the doors made from the different type of wood without telling us and without our approval. Attempts to finish the different types of wood to match each other failed. Defective design: A corner sliding cabinet door was improperly designed and cannot be fully opened without hitting a door pull on an adjacent wall. Several other problems existed that have been repaired but caused inconvenience for us.
Description of Work: E&P Trimwork was hired by a general contractor we hired to build and install custom stain grade wood cabinets as part of a 700 sq. ft. remodel project. The project was supposed to be completed by March 26, 2006 and is still not complete. We have a lot of problems with the cabinets. Because the general contractor failed to complete the project we contacted E&P directly and requested that they fix them. Even though we were assured by representatives of E&P on multiple occasions that they would make thing rights and fix the problems, our requests were answered with a letter from their lawyer. We were charged approximately $7,500 by E&P for the cabinets, and paid for them in full.
