Cameron quoted a $200-250 price on the phone to come out and adjust the boat lift for my new boat. He had two workers do the work. The total time was observed by my wife to be less than 1 hour. He then invoiced me for $500 and when I questioned him he refused to give me an hourly rate and stated that he charged by the job. Since he felt that he had quoted me $250-500 and I knew he quoted $200-250, he got upset and left saying that he didn't want the $200 that I offered. It seemed that he just wanted to rip me off and charge an exorbitant amount (more than $250 per hour per worker). Also, when he showed up to give me the invoice, I asked him for a price on another related lift job and he said it would cost about $150-200. After he then gave me the invoice and we had a discussion about the $500 amount, he stated that he wouldn't do any work for less than $500. When I reminded him that he had just quoted me a much smaller amount for the add-on work, that's when he got upset.
