He said he would fix the washer if I wanted him to but it would be about $500 and in this day and time it would be better to put that $500 towards a new washer. He couldn't guarantee how long the old one would last. I have used them several times. I trust them.

First, I appreciate the quick rescheduling due to my power going out just before my first appointment, as did your service guy who lives near me and was stuck in traffic due to the storm. However, when we did get together for the repair, he was great. A bit skeptical because these keyboard repairs are often unsuccessful on the older ranges. But...we got lucky and everything went well and works like new. Great guy, I wish I remembered his name so I could give him a more personal at-a-boy.

Unfortunately the fridge could not be repaired so further serviced were not required. Only down side is that we are still waiting for a receipt for the service visit.

Adam came right on time (on the early side of the window).  First the dryer and spent extra time checking and adjusting things.

Matt McKinley came and assessed the problem, replaced the leaking water storage tank, and quoted me for fixing the ice maker.  Matt was professional and personable in his work.  He showed me the problems and what needed to be done to fix them.  We opted not to fix the ice maker because it would be too expensive ($400), but Matt showed me that I could buy bag ice and dump it in the ice maker storage to have it dispensed below.  I really appreciated that trick!  Changing the water storage tank fixed the leak and now we have water for our fridge!  Matt was great, and I would use him again.  Oh, he even came back after all his work was done because I thought it wasn't working, but it was.  He didn't make me feel bad and was very pleasant to interact with.

He repaired the dryer that had previously been fixed incorrectly by another company. He was able to pin point the problem with in 5 minutes and did the repairs effectively. He also fixed cosmetic issues from the previous repair.
He was very professional and cleaned up after the repairs

When we moved into our house, we had a Dacor built-in refrigerator that I suspected had a door-closing problem. As a result, the unit ran constantly. I called for service, and the diagnosis was that it needed a new seal (which I actually pointed out to the tech) and a new door-closing spring. The tech, who did not seem that knowledgeable, told me that the spring was no longer available from Dacor, even though the refrigerator was only 7 years old. He said that there was nothing that they could do, so as a result, we'd have to replace a $10,000 refrigerator. We paid him the $80 service fee (which is reasonable), and he left. The next day, my wife goes on the internet, and within 5 minutes, she finds the spring for less than $20. Now granted, it wasn't an OEM part, but you'd think that the tech would have been able to offer us the same for an appliance like that. Therefore, I had very little faith in him and Accurate Appliance. So I thought that I'd take a look at the unit myself to see if I could figure out what was wrong. I noticed that the spring under the unit was fine (after I removed the 3 screws from the plate on the bottom of the unit, which the tech never did). I assessed that there was something wrong with the swing of the door based upon the way that the door closed. I then changed the seal myself because I wasn't going to pay them to do it after they botched the diagnosis. When I called them back to tell them what I had found, they told me that they could send the same tech out to look at the unit for no charge, which I thought was fair. I told them that I did not have much faith in that tech, so I asked for a more senior technician. They told me that would cost me another service fee. So I agreed to have them send the other tech out. Then the owner called me. He told me that because I changed the seal myself, that they "may" have to charge me another service fee if conditions had changed. I appreciated him trying to warn me of that, but it irritated me that he would even suggest that given that I paid him $80 for a service call where the tech gave me a best-guess diagnosis without even looking at the part, and then told me that there was nothing that they could do. He was as nice as he could be about the situation, but I cancelled my appointment for the free service call. I won't be using them again.
Response from ACCURATE APPLIANCE REPAIR
"I certainly understand this customers frustration. We wanted to go out and look at this at no charge to him even though he attempted the repair himself. If he calls us back we will be glad to do so. I can't correct a problem we are not allowed to at least look at. We did attempt to contact this customer and at this time have not heard from him."

Two service calls. First call and, of course, the dryer that was not working for us worked fine while the technician was here! Go figure. Second call for service and we were scheduled for two days out. This time the dryer complied and was not working when the technician arrived. He found the issue and did not charge for the second service call, just time and parts.

I haven't had any problems with any of the new appliances but I had a lot of problems with old appliances and I was calling Mike every 3 to 6 months to fix my appliances. He has fixed appliances for my neighbors and I am sure they were quite pleased. I would use him again the future.

The company did a competent repair job, but I believe the charges were excessive for the work performed.  This is what happened: Our built-in LG microwave stopped heating on Christmas day.  When I called after Christmas, the earliest they could come was January 3. The technician came on the appointed day after calling ahead to confirm.  Once he figured out how to remove the front panel, the repair went quickly, no more than 20-30 minutes total. He replaced the interlock microswitch with a part carried on his truck.  When he finished, he announced that the charge was $171.35.  I was surprised that it was so high, but saw no alternative but to pay it, since the repair had already been done.  I requested a detailed breakdown from the company,  and learned that the charge included $150.00 for labor, $20.00 for the part, and $1.35 sales tax (this part is available online from LG for $2.10 plus $7.49 shipping)..  When I called the company to question the charge, the owner told me that they had many expenses that had to be covered, that the charge was based on a "national flat rate" instead of per hour, and that they were "certified," but he did not say who issued the "national flat rate" or by whom the company was "certified."  He further told me that, if I had complained at the time of the repair, they would have been willing to put the defective part back in and charge me "only" $75 for the service call.  In short I give them high marks for quality of work, a low mark for an unacceptably high cost, and a low mark for professionalism, since they did not fully disclose their somewhat unusual pricing policies until after the work was done.

They fixed it perfectly.   The cost of $75 to come out doesn't get you anything, they tack on labor charges to it so for small fixes that are already diagnosed you may want to find a less expensive company.  They were very professional and did the work well.
Response from ACCURATE APPLIANCE REPAIR
"We are happy to help the customer over the phone if they are able. In this case, the customer wanted us to come out and repair the product, which we were happy to do. We are insured, our technicians go to schools to be trained, we guarantee our work, and we are the only certified appliance repair company in the Carolina's. If the customer has a problem with the repair, we would go back in accordance to our guarantee and take care of the problem for them. Accurate Appliance Repair is pleased that he is comfortable with the way we handled the repair and it is working well for him."

The tech called in advance to notify us and he was on schedule. Parts had been ordered and were ready to be installed. The tech did a great job; he was pleasant and efficient. He also diagnosed a problem and offered advice on the oven's door hinges which are a source of concern (but work on the oven door was outside the scope of the service call--no problem about that). Concerning the company: The quote for the cost of work performed was 100% accurate. The quote also, very importantly, gave me a price break for having work done on more than one appliance in the same call. Other companies I'd contacted actually wanted to charge me EXTRA for working on more than one appliance in the same call. FURTHER: this same company (different tech who also was very good) repaired my washing machine in September. The tech fixed the machine by removing an item from the drain pump. He could have claimed that the drain pump needed to be replaced--I would never have known that I was charged for a part that wasn't needed. Kudos to the company and the tech for honesty and good customer service.

Fine - came in, took alook, diagnosed the problem - basically said that model has issues. If service didn't work would need to replace line.

He was here for about an hour. Since my call was about the water temperature, I thought that is the first thing that he would have checked that first and just switched them. Instead, he ran diagnostics first and then realized the lines were switched. So I essentially had to pay $89 for him to switch the lines.

"All due respect to this customer the information on this report was not only allmost 5 months late, but it is not truthful. we were asked to check for any other problems and the charge was $89.00. She must have had a bad day. a pdf file with a copy of the reciept has been sent to angies list to confirm this."

They replaced our ice maker and also replaced the actual heating element and there was no problem. They showed up on time and were very professional. Their prices were also reasonable.
