Tom Campbell was referred to us by Cox Doors (see separate report on them) because we needed some framing done to allow garage doors to be put on our barn. We decided we would ask him about installing wooden doors on the hayloft openings while he was here. He arrived on time and was polite and professional, and cleaned up every bit of scrapwood and mess. He also spent time to ask how the upper doors would be used, and had an idea for the vinyl siding that made it really accent the barn. But what stood out to me was the extremely high quality of his work. He went above and beyond what was needed for the garage doors, making sure the framing was perfect and rock solid. He had a big challenge on the upper hay loft doors because the openings weren't "square" - they varied up to two inches from one side to the other. Plus they are 15 feet in the air, and he had to rig some kind of platform they could stand on to hang the doors. He and his two colleagues spent hours configuring the weight bearing hinges and measuring to fit the openings. Tom wasn't satisfied until he had the doors mounted perfectly and had added extras like a rope to pull them shut from the inside and a safety bar so nobody could fall out. He really earned his money on that job! I plan to call Tom again and ask him about replacing a couple of windows in our house. I know he is truly a craftsman who cares about the work he does, and that's really hard to find.
