Josam Painting

We wanted the painting done while we were on vacation because we knew we would need to keep our dogs off of the deck long enough for it to dry thoroughly, which makes it difficult to let them out to use the bathroom. Guadalupe and his crew pressure-washed everything before we left, and did the painting early in the week that we were gone. A neighbor opened exterior doors for them to be able to paint around the edges, and he was very impressed with their attention to detail. They cleaned and painted the top of a high, thin ledge inside our screened-in porch, an area that our neighbor felt a lesser company would have ignored since it is a place that we don't normally see and isn't exposed to the elements. The entire paint job looks excellent, and our front door has never looked so good. We have had trouble with the stain on it aging and peeling faster than other parts of the house, but Guadalupe explained the shortcuts in prep work that can lead to such a problem, and he explained the way that he prepped it that should prevent a recurrence. We wanted the house painted the same colors as before. Our being on vacation while it was being done led to the only problem. The style in our neighborhood is for all horizontal siding to be painted one color, and all trim and vertical boards to be painted the trim color. We prefer to paint the vertical boards the same as the siding color because with our colors the house looks too busy if they are painted the trim color, especially around the bay window. Guadalupe incorrectly assumed that the previous painter just painted the vertical boards the siding color because it was easier to do, and he painted them the trim color. When I contacted him and told him that we actually wanted the vertical boards to be the same as the siding color, he corrected the mistake without any extra charge or complaint. I usually don't like to hire any company that doesn't have any reviews on Angie's List, but I knew that Guadalupe did paint jobs as a subcontractor for another company that is highly rated on Angie's List. This gave me the confidence to hire him, and I am very glad that I did. He was accommodating from start to finish, and my house looks the best it has ever looked. I will definitely call him again when I need any painting done, interior or exterior, and I feel very comfortable recommending him to friends and family.
