BEWARE! BEWARE! I had our roof installed in 2016 with the understanding from Ryan Kloepping, the Owner, that they will stand behind their product and installation for the life of our roof. A few months after the architectural roof install, the roof leaked around my bay window, in my freshly painted dining room. I immediately called Helms Construction and the said that they would fix my flashing and have the small water spot re-painted. Over the last few years the flashing has continued to pull away above the bay window. I would immediately advised Helms Construction. They would seal around the flashing, thinking that was the problem. In 2018, we had a large storm and my bay window leaked terribly. The leak covered the bay window area ceiling and into my dining area, my furniture, and walls. On September 20, 2018, I spoke to them and they said they would make the repair. After numerous calls and text messages, I finally convinced Helms Construction on September 26th to pull off the roofing over the bay window and reinstall because it’s obvious that the flashing is not the issue. They did in early October. Finally, the source of the leak was discovered! There was a large hole in the sheeting, over my bay window, from the installation! The torn sheeting was removed and the roof was reinstalled. The roof hasn’t leaked since. I asked Helms Construction to open up my ceiling and get the wet insulation out, patch, and repaint my ceiling due to the improper install. HELM CONSTRUCTION AGREED IN WRITING. I have a documented trail of phone calls, emails, text messages, and pictures. With excuse, after excuse….I can’t find a contractor to get out to your home because they are booked, I don’t have a painter now, I hurt my shoulder so I can’t open your ceiling….It’s now June 10, 2019, still no repair. Since the leak, I advised Helms Construction continuously that I was worried about mold growth and the health impact on my asthma. I also had to cancel my holiday plans because I was unable to use my dining room. It’s now June 2019, I am now being passed off to Jason, a new employee, that doesn’t know the history of my roof and doesn’t want to get involved. I’m now being told by Ryan Kloepping, the Owner, via his new employee, “We fixed the flashing and painted the small spot on your ceiling in 2016. We are done.”. Ryan did send the roofer came out last week to make sure the roof wasn’t still leaking and had the employee state that I needed to call my insurance company to file a claim. What?! The source of the leak was not the flashing! IT WAS THE LARGE HOLE IN THE SHEETING DURING THEIR INSTALL! I have left numerous phone and text messages for Ryan Kloepping, the Owner, asking to discuss the documented history, pictures, and emails. No response. I called and texted Ryan again this morning. Still no response. I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH THAT YOU SHOULD NOT USE HELMS CONSTRUCTION. THEIR GUARANTEE MEANS NOTHING & THEY DON’T STAND BY WHAT THEY HAVE AGREED IN WRITING, DOCUMENTED NUMEROUS TIMES! Complaint filed with the Better Business Bureau.

I had to hire and repay to have this redone professionally and was shown the correct way this should have been fixed. They did not have a clue what they were doing. I would never hire them again. For anything and I would advise you not to hire them either! I never got my money back... 1,000.00 as my attorney said court would cost me more. I want to warn people of his bad work as well as lack of professionalism.

This contractor attempted to scam us out of insurance money, claiming that most of the most of the repairs were not to be covered after they were already finished. He demanded all the "rest of the money", telling us we were wrong (We hired him for a service, not to be harassed and berated). We asked MULTIPLE times for an invoice, which he refused, demanding an outrageous amount of money. He is rude and unreasonable. We contacted our insurance company to confirm that what he was saying was incorrect. After he found this out, he quickly settled with us, knowing that we knew he was trying to scam us. Surely this is isn't the first time he's done this to innocent people. Helms Construction is a SCAM and will try to bully you into giving them too much money for barely any service.

It went great. The morning of installation the guys got here at approx. 7:15 a.m. and started removing the old roof.

Ryan put a new roof on a house my firm was listing for sale. Absolutely perfect job, no complaints whatsoever. They took off an old roof, cut in ridge vents, and installed a beautiful 30 year roof. No mess, no nails in the yard, and they completed the job on time. Except for the new roof you'd never know they had been there. I've worked with a lot of roofing contractors over the years and Helms Construction is among the best.

They worked with our insurance company to ensure that all the damage was noted, covered and repaired.

Ryan Helms and David Cashion were extremely professional from the initial visit to the completion of the project. Ryan explained exactly what the contract included and answered all of my questions. Then they did a great job of follow up and scheduling a convenient time for the installation.
Likewise, the roofing crew was outstanding. They were prompt, courteous and careful with everything around the house. I cannot say enough about how hard these guys worked to complete a large high quality roof project in just 2 days. Plus they did an exceptional cleanup job afterwards.
After completion, Ryan and David made a personal inspection visit to make sure everything was completed to our satisfaction.
Based on our experience, I wholeheartedly recommend Helms Construction for your roofing projects.

They did a great job, and Ryan made sure everything was done correctly. He and David were personable, polite, worked with my insurance company to replace my roof due to storm damage. They did not take any money until the job was completely done, unlike some of the roofing companies that you hear about. They also did additional work and we were pleased with how well they did.
I would not hesitate to recommend them for any contracting work that you need to have done.
