Larry Roofing

I contracted with Larry Street to install new metal roofing on our home and a 10x26 ft. outbuilding. He provided a contract and asked for $10K upfront to cover materials. Larry bought part of the roofing and brought it onsite. He and 2 helpers started on the outbuilding first because our home roof was being renovated by a framing contractor. It took nearly a month for him to complete the outbuilding roof. He then came to me and said he had $80K in cash that he was carrying in his work truck to disappear. Larry asked if I would advance him more money. I declined to do that and shortly thereafter, he sent a text message stating that he was unable to roof our home. Larry acknowledged that he owed me money back but didn’t know when he could pay it. I ended up filing a lawsuit against him in Davie County, NC and obtained a judgement against him for $5K. I’ve heard Larry has done this to others. DO NOT USE THIS CONTRACTOR FOR ANY WORK!

It took Larry over a month to complete the shed roof (a 10’ x 26’ structure). He came to me and said he was carrying around $80K in cash in his work truck and that money had been stolen. Larry asked if I would pay more money toward the contract. I declined to do that and shortly thereafter, he texted that he had been hurt and would not be able to roof our home. We ended up hiring another roofer who helped me determine that we received about $5K in materials and work from Larry. I took Larry to Small Claims Court and obtained a judgement against him in Davie County, NC.

He is very good. He is very particular and cleans up when he is finished.
