Chris arrived on time. He assessed the situation and explained what he would do to find the leak. He kept me updated each time he found something, and eventually identified the cause of the leak. It was prepared quickly, and cleanly. Chris responded quickly to my initial call, and answered any questions I had about the leak and surrounding areas. Very professional, very courteous. I would definitely hire again when needed!

Two years ago our standard hot water tank died. Chris Huneycutt was called by me since one of my friends gave me his number. I did not check Angie's List!  He said that we needed a new hot water tank and a tankless one was the way to go.  I should have checked into this! He installed one for $6000.  Left the manual on the floor of the garage and that was it.  Well, two years later over the weekend we had no hot water!  I called him and he told me that all tankless hot water heaters need to be serviced every 1-2 years!!!!! I about fell over!  I told him he did not make that clear to us otherwise I would not buy one that every two years needed service or it would not work!!!  He says he told us.  No way!  I never would have agreed to it.  He proceeded angerily to tell me that I should have read the manual and it was in there!!!I  He sent out his brother (troy) to service the call.  Troy arrived 1.5 hours later and started yelling at me and that I should have read the manual and started giving me page numbers I would have know this! I was so scared!! I was home alone!  He was a mad man! I told him to stop yelling at me! I was shaking inside!! I told him to just fix it and I got inside the house.  I got my manual out and there was NO mention that the heaters need to be serviced!!!  I brought the book out to show him and he had EGG on his face!  He called the company in charlotte and they told him that THEY don't need to be serviced annually and that is why there is no mention in my manual!!!!!!!!!  So I was no longer the fool I told him!  He apoligized but it was too late.  I just wanted him out of my house and wanted hot water again.  I will never use them again.  They are dishonest and not trustworthy.  I would also not recommend getting a tankless water  heater unless you are willing to pay $200 a year which is what I had to pay and he said that the NEW ones in 2012 are now an annual service!  How is this better for the consumer?  Just the plumbers!

"When I discussed the tankless water heater with this client, I gave her 3 options of brands. She chose Navien. This is one of the most technologically advanced tankless water heaters. However, it was also relatively new at the time, and like many new products, had some unforeseen bugs. I installed the water heater 2 years ago. About 6 months later, she called and hired me to replace a toilet, and everything went fine. A year after that, she asked me to replace a garbage disposal. Once again, everything went fine. It was 2 years after I installed the tankless water heater that it showed an error. Whether or not the manual said it, most plumbers, myself included, would recommend servicing tankless water heaters yearly, because there are so many more components on them versus a regular water heater, and a greater chance of lime and scale buildup. To the best of my recollection, I believe I did recommend she get it serviced regularly. I understand it is my word against hers, but I genuinely believe I did let her know about the servicing. I sent my brother (who is also a licensed plumber) to her house to check on the water heater because I was on a job far away, and, knowing how challenging it can be to not have hot water, I wanted to get it fixed as soon as possible. Troy admitted he may not have handled the situation in the best way. However, he did apologize to her before he left. Also, he was not an hour and a half late. I know for a fact he got there exactly at the scheduled time, and was able to quickly diagnose and fix the problem. After all of this, I tried to contact her and her husband at least 4 times wanting to talk through the situation. Her husband did not want to get involved. This client claims she should have checked Angie’s list before hiring me, implying there would have been some indication of what she calls my ‘dishonesty.’ However, at the time she hired me I had zero negative reviews. I take immense pride in being professional, hard-working, respectful, friendly and engaging with my clients. I am saddened this client has a wrong picture of me and my business. But I understand that is just how it is sometimes."
