Mr. Blevins was supposed to build a small addition to our house. He begged for the work and made very reasonable bid. Once he was halfway through the job he decided that he had not asked for enough money and quit paying the workmen and subcontractors. He even stopped showing up on the site.  He never paid the plumber, the painter, or the electrician. He kept the money we gave him and added a picnic shelter to his own property. We wound up paying and supervising the workmen so they would continue to work. Mr. Blevins and his wife asked us for money several timesduring this process.
