Sloppy drywall job done, trim kit incomplete, but paint job was good. Personal property not protected, no clean-up. Owner, Brian Briggs, very unprofessional. Gave him opportunity to fix these issues...he didn't.

We used Brian to make some updates to our home, including
removing wainscoting and installing some lights and electrical outlets. We
asked him to reuse the trim which added some complexity to the job, but he was
able to do that and did a very nice job. The drywall work and painting were
excellent, as were the lighting installation and repair of the drywall that
resulted from the lighting work.
The primary problem we had with Brian was communication.
Although he was eager to communicate, the eagerness became an annoyance
quickly. Prior to starting the job we felt almost harassed by the number of
calls and the ?used car salesman? tactics of knocking off some of the price for
a quick decision. We gave him the benefit of the doubt after the designer we
were working with insisted he was just eager not to be the contractor that was
out of touch. Based on her recommendation we continued on with him.
The communication problems continued with frequent miscues
resulting in him coming when we explicitly asked him not to and not showing up
when we planned for him to. His contract was fairly vague and open to some
interpretation. We had to insist that he stop work on our bookcase after we
felt that it was botched beyond repair, yet we were still billed for that
service and were harassed until it was paid. After paying it and asking that he
never call us again he called eight months later asking for a letter of
recommendation.
While much of his work was good, his communication and understanding of interpersonal relationships seems to be
lacking. If you use Brian, we would recommend having everything in the contract
be as explicit as possible so you can have some recourse if it doesn?t work out
the way you expect .
