He was superb. It went well. He is really easy to work with. He is timely. He comes over and gives you a good estimate both times. That's important. We had a fence built and they gave us choices based on his knowledge. They come when they say. They do the work and they leave. It's just fine. I would recommend him. His prices were quite good.

He's excellent! Phil has done a lot of work for me on my home. I'd recommend him to do anything. I've been working with him for 3 years. He's punctual, honest, reliable, and has a great crew - they're all nice and professional. He also put a roof on my house.

I love them. I was thrilled. He actually saved my life. I bought the crown molding and it made such a big difference adding the crown molding; it made it so much better. I had 3 estimates and they were much cheaper than everyone else. They forgot to do a little something at the end and I called them. They were back in 5 minutes to fix it. I'm going to have them put windows in my house next summer.

They were very good. It’s easy to talk to them about what I wanted and they did just what I asked them to do. They didn’t try to talk me into anything. They were very accommodating.

The job was done 4 years ago. These guys told us that they do floors, when in fact they had no idea how to do it. Stain was all over the place, dirt was caught in the sealer, so they had to refinish the floors. If only that was the only issue. Before they even finished the floors started bubbling and waving, because he insisted that the wood didn't have to be acclimated to the house!! I kept arguing and arguing that I want it to get acclimated and he simply refused. He kept telling me about climate controlled warehouse, about the temperature of the wood and the walls in the house, so I trusted him. I should have known better! Four years later we are getting ready to refinish floors and EVERY contractor comments on how bad the floor is, this why I'm writing this review, I got p***** all over again.
I had to insist that they should use steamer to remove wall paper, because they could not do it properly too. He suggested to paint over wall paper, like any professional would ever do that!!!
He did seem sincere and willing to work on mistakes, but overall I don't think they are professional.

One bathroom, he said he could take the wallpaper off and paint it. There was some wood at my front door that was rotten because of a hole in the gutter. They replaced the wood piece but what was there before was wider so when they had painted it, the paint got on the brick. He said he would try to see if they could get it off, but they couldn't get it off. The guy that put the wood on the door did a terrible job. That was mild compared to what happened to the bathroom.

They wet the wallpaper thinking it would come off real easy but it didn't. They kept wetting it and wetting it. They had to come back the next day and wet it some more. They tried peeling and scraping it off. It made a big mess. They had to start slapping mud on the walls. They finally got the mud on and then they painted it. The first person who painted it did an absolutely horrible job. The ceramic is white and so I had it painted with a darker color. Everything that wasn't straight was very noticeable. I got sick right after that and didn't go in that bathroom for a while. A little while later I went in there and noticed that behind the toilet they didn't do a thing. The wallpaper was still there, they didn't put mud back there or paint. I had the guy come back and he said that they didn't usually remove the toilet without an extra expense which they never told me. They did get it taken care of.

I was just really irritated. On top of that, I have a rail that is wood and some pieces needed to be replaced. What they did was okay until they got to the very end and there was one piece they didn't replace. It was very obvious they were trying to get things done very fast. They also did a cross piece that wasn't even the same type of wood.

We had a leak in our shower pan liner which caused some wood rot to the support beam in the craw space, partial drywall damage in an adjacent closet and hardwood floor damage in an adjoining hall area.
STATE FARM INSURANCE COMPANY, REFUSED TO PAY BECAUSE THE DAMAGE WAS NOT IMMEDIATELY REPORTED ALTHOUGH IT WAS REPORTED WHEN ULTIMATELY OBSERVED.
Phil and his crew replaced the support beam, the shower plan liner, installed a new tile floor in the shower, repaired damage in the closet and replaced the damaged hard wood floor.  The shower was redone well, although we had to specifically request cleanup in the craw space and additional work on the hardwood floor which began to cup (the flooring was replaced before the sub-floor was completely dry).  Although the hardwood floor was again sanded and refinished, it still has some unresolved cupping issues to this day.

Well anybody that would have gone through a total kitchen restoration like we did and had a pleasurable experience about it would say you were crazy. The fact of the matter is as I had planned this from the beginning all the pieces of the puzzle just had to fall in place.

Phil's Wood Construction sent Chad and Stoney out to cut a hole in the wall of my attached garage, then install a 36"x48" double hung window.  The work was done quickly and professionally.  Chad and Stoney worked together like a well oiled machine, they even cleaned up after themselves as if it were their own home.  The finish details around the new window trim, the redoing of the drywall and the exterior trim (which is Hardy Plank) were all finished out better than the windows that came with the house when it was new.  The quality of the workmanship is great.  I'd recommend this company and these two carpenters to anyone who needs work of this type done.

It went well. They showed up on time and did exactly what they said they were going to do. It looks nice and they cleaned up. They had the best price of the people we contacted. They did a great job. They knew what they were doing and got it done quickly. They were responsive and answered every phone call every time.

This project was enormous. Phil and his men showed up every morning by 7:30am and worked a full day every day. Phil is a self-proclaimed schedule monster, and these guys accomplished an almost inhuman amount of work in one day. They were all polite, professional, and the quality of their work was impeccable. There were the normal bumps in the road that every large project will present, but each one was handled with the utmost professionalism, CREATIVITY, and thoughtfulness. I couldn't be more pleased. They completed the project in 8 weeks, start to finish, and none of their work was below par. Just a great group of people to have around the house every day, and an addition that I am thrilled with.

Phil s Wood did a very good job and I wouldn t hesitate to hire them again. The work was of high quality and throughout the whole process I felt that Phil took pride in his work and that he wanted me to be happy. He or his crew showed up when they said they would; his crew members were efficient and friendly and I felt extremely comfortable with them in the house. Phil always answered his phone or returned messages very quickly. I arranged for the cabinets and countertops to be installed separately from Phil's work (my countertops had to be installed by the fabricator and the man who made my cabinets installed them as part of the price of the cabinets), and Phil worked around their schedules with no problem. The price quoted in the bid was the exact price I paid-there were no surprises.

They did a great job of it. He did some creative paneling on our ceiling to cover an exposed beam. We had a problem with that work and he came out and fixed the problem. He stayed true to his quote.

I have no complaints, and the owner is a nice guy. This method was a lot cheaper than starting from scratch, since I had the roof, the support beams, and it was already paved. All they had to do was build walls and add the garage door to it. We just hired them to come back and do a complete kitchen remodel. I will say the price was reasonable and leave it at that.

The work performed by Phil's Wood was substandard and sloppy. His workers did such poor work we refused to allow them to complete the job. Repairing the work Phil's Wood had done cost us hundreds of additional dollars. I would never recommend Phil's Wood for any construction projects.
