I have a 6-yr. old Dell Laptop that suddenly gave error messages that my Bios password was incorrect, thereby locking me completely out of my computer system. Without access to a computer, I found NerdyTechs in the Angie's List Service catalog and contacted them. Chris answered and informed me that he was one of the lead Master Techs at NerdyTech and asked how he could help. When I explained what I was told by my computers's manufacturer's service tech, Chris let me know that he could bypass the Bios system. He gave me his rates and an estimate of what the service would cost. He was very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. What I liked MOST was that he spoke in laymen's terms and explained things simply and professionally without being condescending or speaking incomprehensible 'geek-tech-lingo'. We talked about computers, as my concern was whether to spend the money to repair my aged computer or put it towards purchasing a new one since the pricing for new laptops are so reasonable just now. He shared a lot of industry knowledge and followed through with everything that he said he would do. When I arrived to pick up the repair (approx. 2 hours after dropping it off, the same day), Chris shared how he was able to remove my bios password and offered an additional solution, based on the conversation we'd had earlier. He showed me the components of my existing laptop and new components that he could install to upgrade it, make it faster, more effective and last longer. This solution would extend the life of my laptop, create time to locate and purchase the desktop model that I've been Jonesing for, as well as, allow me to continue to use my laptop as a back-up system, all for a fraction of the cost of a new laptop.
In the meantime, upon my return home with my repaired laptop, I discovered my original sin. My bios authentication program rejected my password, evidently because, having cleaned my keyboard a bit excessively with sanitizer, four of my keyboard characters stopped working; one of which was a crucial component of my password. I picked up the phone and gave Chris a call. He's now going to price out a bundle package that includes a new keyboard and see if we can still keep it more reasonable than a new computer purchase. Since I found him through Angie's List, I get to use the advertised discount on my second service. In the meantime, he recommended a temporary solution (purchasing a $15 USB plug-in keyboard, which overrides the original one, that I'm currently using to write this review).
So far I have nothing but GOOD THINGS to say about this service provider. He didn't just perform the work that I was paying for, he offered viable SOLUTIONS whether it benefited him or not, in the name of customer service. The experience has been very pleasant. He is very communicative and extremely easy to work with.  I was never left to wonder what was happening with my service. He let me know his schedule (which included the fact that he'd be out-of-pocket on the 21st for the 2015 Technology Industry 'Roll Out' Trade Show). He even volunteered to deliver my computer to me, if need be, because he had a service call in the area where I'm located. It wasn't necessary, but it was a really nice touch. Especially since I'd decided to give NerdyTechs a try, based only on Angie's List, even though I'd had experience working successfully with another company years ago that is a little closer to where I live, whom I'd already spoken with, but gives pricing based on 1/2 hour increments for the work performed. Although that other company's quote was slightly less for an estimated 1/2 hours work, I'm really glad that I decided to work with NerdyTechs instead.  I HIGHLY RECOMMEND NerdyTechs Computer Repair services.
The shop is easy to find, behind the Krispy Kreme Doughnuts location on Independence Drive, across the street from the Audi Car Dealership.

Fantastic!  Their web site exceeded my expectations.  I have had numerous compliments because of its content, color, format, and

professionalism.  The people are so easy to work with at Nerdy Techs.  They make home or office visits, or you can go to them at a convenient location.

I took my computer to his store off of Independence and he has nice quiet office.  The lady at the front was very nice and took all of my information.  Chris contacted me within an hour of dropping off my laptop to give me his advice on what I should do to make sure my computer works the best it can.  It was ready the very next day which was awesome because I didn't want to wait very long to get my laptop back!  When I came to pick up my computer he walked me through what he had done and showed me how much better my computer would be performing.  He takes debit cards too which is great because I don't always have cash.  He guarantees his work so I know that if I have any issues, he will help me get back up and running.  Overall, I was blown away by the customer service, the turn around time, and the quality of work.  I'm recommending them to all of my classmates!  Also, when I was in the shop I noticed that they don't just fix computers, they do a ton of other stuff too.  I'm considering having them build a website for a startup business I am planning on opening after graduation.

Computer was running really slow, I think I had a virus, there were alot of pop-ups.  I was referred by a friend, brought my computer in to have a look. The shop was not in plain view but easy to find once I had the address.  It was behind the Krispy Kreme next to the Cinemark movie theaters off of Independence and Sam Newell in Matthews.  Chris, who helped me with my computer also told me I could use google maps. "Just type in NerdyTechs".  Chris fixed my computer and took his time to make my experience more personal. The rate was by far better then the big box store down the street and again a much more personal.  I would highly recommend them and if needed I will be using them again in the future.
