Handyman Service
The first 4 jobs on the list were completed satisfactorily. The last 5 were not, though we paid for all but $250 of it. There are still spaces between some bricks without mortar (5), the chimney bricks were never addressed, many crumbled bricks on the facade were never replaced, and the faces of the brickwork were never cleaned as promised after the job. After the workmen repitched the gutter, they stood on the roof of the garage (6) pouring water from a hose into the gutter, promising me below that they were seeing the gutter draining completely. We later climbed a ladder ourselves and found that that gutter was still holding 1/2 inch of water, enough to breed mosquitos. We were promised caulking in gutter seams which we never got; they now leak in the rain. The 2 screened doors that the workmen installed (7) didn't close properly, and the $30 solid brass doorknob that we purchased and entrusted to them was missing, We had to buy a new $30 brass doorknob and pay someone else to finish hanging the doors so that they were functional. We're going to have to pay about $1,000 to someone else to finish the brick repairs, repitch the gutter, and repair the stepped-through soffit. One of the workmen shoddily repaired and painted the soffit that the contractor accidently stepped through (8). He promised on the phone that he would come back and repair it, and finish everything else on the punch list we left him, but he never did. Actually, I don't want the liability of having any of his workmen back here again. One of his subs, Jeremy, brought his 4 year old son on the job with him a few days while he worked on the roof. This was frightening to me since we have a 6-foot deep pond in our back yard. One Friday Jeremy left lunch trash which consisted of 2 empty beer bottles. We wondered how many days had he been up on the roof in the heat after a couple of beers at lunch? Jeremy was responsible for much of the unfinished, shoddy work done on this job towards the end, but he camped out in front of our house a couple of afternoons waiting for us to get home from work so he could ask us for a check in payment for it. We had signed contracts only with Jerry, the contractor, and always paid only him. Jerry promised us proof of insurance on all his workers, but we never got it, We're lucky no one was hurt on this job and we weren't sued.

General Remodeling, Gutter Repair and Replacement + 1 more
He did lousy work. His work should have taken two weeks and it took over two months. This was a terrible experience. He lied about the work he was doing and would not show up for his appointments. This was very aggravating.
