Forge Fence systems cashed my $13,800 check vet quickly on 7/27/2025. He has not built the fence. He refuses to return my money.

Chuck was quick to come out, made a good first impression, put together a good plan for gates; prices were high, but he said he wasn't cheap. Gates and control systems were installed quickly, looked good. Chuck insisted on immediate payment though I was not available to witness final test. One of the photocells didn't work; Chuck's brother fixed it promptly. Soon after, a metal detector didn't work. I called once a week for 8 weeks, asked if he could fix it; he promised he would each week, never did. The last time I called he cursed me, called me a liar, accused me of breaking it, told me never to call him again. I paid someone else to fix it--repairman said sensor was wired wrong. I paid someone to replace the hinges after they broke multiple times. Chuck had said his uncle made the gates; company that repaired them said they had made them, they didn't know him, and he had used hinges too small for that gate.

I was in a tight spot as my builder abandoned his obligation to provide fencing of a pool when I was expecting to get a C/O. I called a number of companies and was referred to Chuck by one guy I called.
Chuck was responsive and available to provide me with basic aluminum fencing around two corners of a pool that involved two gates and about 60 linear feet of fence.
He was very responsive and assured me he would take care of the job and his guys did the work when he promised so that was positive. The price he quoted was quite high (more than twice what others would charge me) but I needed it fast and I agreed to it as I was in a bind and the other companies could not move as quickly as they were backed up for a few weeks.
The work was done timely but I had to call them to add one more length of fence which was missing and also to put caps on several posts which were missing and adjust a couple of them to make sure they were squared off. They came back and addressed the missing fence but still missed one cap. Further his guys left a wooden pallet from the packaging laying the the yard. I called a second time and they added the cap but didn't square the post. When I contacted Chuck he was on vacation but said it would be taken care of. A couple of messages later and no response.
Finally I sent a note of disappointment and received this reply:
"No, didn?t forget been out of town and my employees were supposed to resolve this. However your comments are not substantiated and quite unappreciated and most of all?you?re being EXTREMELY picky and I believe you?re aware of this. Regards Chuck."
What an awful response rather than taking pride in doing a good job.
For a job that cost me $2400 and only took a couple of hours, I believe I should be entitled to have the square posts be positioned squarely and consistently with the other posts. Apparently this is too picky. If you are looking for attention to detail in your work, you may want to look elsewhere.
If his response had ended with a comment that he would ensure the job was well done to my satisfaction I would have not submitted this review.

It went great! I contacted the office and Chuck returned my call within a day. He came out that very same day while I was at work and called me back with an estimate to remove the posts and surrounding pickets, replace the post and reuse the pickets. Chuck had repaired the split rail fence at the back of my property two days after I moved in 5 years ago and had been recommended by a co-worker. He's actually the person who told me about Angies List and I joined and have used their services ever since. He did a great job, was very personable and professional and I would definitely use his services again.

Two more weeks go by and we still have not heard anything. This is now 4 weeks with no contact from him, yet he cashed our check immediately after receiving it. I called back again and was told the same thing, in fact she said he was in the field and she would have him call me. Again, I was not called back and we were not added to the schedule. At this point she says she's going to have him call me on Monday (I called on a Wednesday). I waited until the Wednesday of the following week before calling back and on that Wednesday I was told there was a death in the family and that's why he didn't call. She said she'd have him call me by Friday. I waited until the following week to call. I let them know I was irritated because it has now been 6 weeks and we still have no installation date set up or call back from Mr. Conner. At that point I told them I needed to hear back from them immediately or I was going to cancel. I then did finally receive a call from Chuck on the 26th and he left me a voicemail saying he promises to call me Monday and that they would be out the week of the 29th. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday came and went with nothing. Thursday, October 2nd Chuck called and left a message at 8:45am stating that they would like to get started tomorrow and that location markers had been set. At this point we have decided we won't be using them because we are completely dissatisfied with them and no location markers had even been laid! He said he did 2 location surveys since we talked, but not one survey marker has been laid. My fiance called and spoke with Chuck and told him we would be canceling our contract and requesting a refund minus the amount for the survey. Chuck advised him to put it in writing and send it to the office and also state that the cancellation was contingent upon the refund of our deposit. Patrick called Misty at the office and relayed this information to her. She told him all she does is scheduling and that we should email Chuck. I wrote an email, stating why we were canceling and gave the exact amount of our deposit minus the survey and I also let him know no survey markers had ever been laid. I said we expected the exact amount of $1,216.00 to be refunded and I also asked for an email or fax copy of the plot survey and the original to be mailed to me. I sent this to the address given to me. I received an email back from Mr. Conner in all caps stating that these accusations are false and he would discuss them with us if we wanted to make an appointment to review paperwork. At this point I responded with another email detailing everything again and let him know there were no property markers and I wouldn't pay for services that hadn't been rendered. I also tried to call him in the mean time, but I didn't leave a voicemail. He did return my call, to my business, but he talked in circles and wouldn't answer my questions directly. I hung up with him at this point because we were getting nowhere.

Overall unhappy with the work they built this time, and unhappy with chuck's attitude and demeanor. We used him at our last house, but after his experience, I would not use him again.

I got a few estimates and I chose Chuck because he was the most interested in the job and he had reasonable prices. He came over and looked at it and said he could take care of it. He did a good job and I was really quite impressed.

I called and left a message - they got back to me shortly after. I had to schedule for Chuck to come out a week later, since they were so busy - it was just going to be the small repair and an estimate. He called me to let me know he'd be coming and even offered to pick up anything I needed from the store. :) It made me laugh, how nice was that? He showed up - and I proceeded to show him the broken piece of fence (it's my neighbor's fence but a tree fell in our backyard and broke a bit of the top split-rail) and it was such a minor job he said he didn't even know how to price it - he jokingly said we could buy him a pizza. :P He then went on to tell me how much it was per foot of installed fence I was interested in, but that I should really take care of the drainage problem in my yard before I think about fencing. We scheduled the fence repair for the next week. Basically with his friendliness, candor and genuineness, he guaranteed our future business!

Chuck came out and gave us a prompt estimate for the work. We wanted a privacy fence with "craftsman" style details. He showed us an example of the desired fence from a photo book he keeps of his work. After we decided to use Forge Fence, Chuck scheduled us within a few weeks. Chuck showed up with his crew the morning the project started, to lay out the fence and checked in with them several times both days. Upon completion, we noted a few items that needed to be addressed (gate spacing and one slightly warped panel) and he had them corrected immediately. We and our neighbors love the fence and have recommended Chuck and his crew to everyone who has commented on it. Please note that the photo attached to this review was taken before the fence was completed and there are a few boards that have not been cut down to the final profile and the finishing caps have not been placed on the posts.

Work took 2 partial days -- less than promised. Cleaned up well after themselves. We had 2 special requests. We asked that they leave some of the old rails. They left the number we asked for and stacked them nicely. We also asked that they replace a fence that we shared with a neighbor on the same day they removed it. They did.

The job went fine. They came in on time, met the estimate, it looks good, the materials look like quality fencing materials and we were very pleased.

FANTASTIC. CHUCK CAME OUT RIGHT AWAY TO GIVE US AN ESTIMATE WHICH WAS VERY COMPETITIVE WITH THE THREE OTHER BIDS WE HAD RECEIVED. WE WERE ABLE TO GET ON THEIR SCHEDULE QUICKLY (WITHIN 2 WEEKS)AND THE WORK WAS COMPLETED IN A VERY TIMELY FASHION. THE CREW WHICH INSTALLED THE FENCE SHOWED UP ON TIME EACH DAY, WERE VERY COURTEOUS AND CLEANED UP NICELY AT THE END OF THE DAY. A VERY NICE JOB.

It went very well. Before I even had a quote done, Chuck recommended I get a survey of my property done. It turned out my neighbors and I had completely mistaken one corner of my property. My sprinkler heads were four feet in one neighbor's lawn and another neighbor's fence was two feet on my property. Chuck agreed to work with my neighbor and move his fence in conjunction with building mine in order to save him money. The work crew was very efficient and hard working. The materials and installation were high quality.

Chuck's crew was the most professional team of guys I've ever seen. They were so respectful and easy to get along with. They don't assume anything, but get the facts and question what they are not sure of. They strive for perfection and in my book did a perfect job. The job site was cleaned after perfectly. The crew is clean, courteous, respectful and I would not hesitate to have this company do any fencing job I might need in the future. I will recommend this company to anyone who needs any kind of fence job.

We were pleased with the whole process. Chuck is very personable and his team was very professional. Once they began work, they completed the fence in two days. The installation process and materials were both high quality. We would not hesitate to use Forge Fence Systems in the future.

Chuck was very responsive throughout the quoting phase (we had lots of questions and concerns) as well as during the demolition and installation. His guys were professional, and they worked for 2 1/2 days straight to get the job done. The fence looks nice. Our only issue is that the fence pickets were not consistently stacked with sides touching, so there are small gaps between pickets, which kind of defeats the purpose of a privacy fence. Chuck admitted it was simply human error, and although we felt that replacing the entire fence was too much to ask, we did ask that they replace the section that separates us from our immediate-next door neighbor. He quickly and kindly agreed. They repaired within days. We discovered a few warped boards and a faulty gate several weeks later, and Chuck responded promptly and repaired the issues within a couple weeks.

Chuck was very punctual and responsive. Offered ideas and showed us photos of previous work that he had completed. He was approx. 2-3 weeks out on a start date and he always kept us informed and ended up starting sooner than we had expected. They were able to remove the old fence and completely install the new one in four days! They by far exceeded my expectations.

They did a great job, were real quick, and got the job done. They called me back right away and they were very pleasant to work with. Chuck was great to work with. They cut back the fence to where it should be, and they've really taken a burden off me.

It was a pleasure to work with Forge Fence. I had a few issues with the gate. Chuck and his crew came out, listened to my concerns, and fixed all issues very quickly and effectively. I would definitely hire them again.

Chuck was very responsive, always returning any call within minutes. His crew came out on a Saturday to remove the old fence and by Monday afternoon, the new fence was up and the debris removed. I had priced out the fence and his was the most reasonable and within the range I had set for the project.
