These guys are the "best of the best"! Seriously, they did everything right....I moved from Charlotte to Michigan and everybody wanted a bazillion dollars to get my stuff to me. These guys were reasonable and affordable! Complete professionals...on-time, nothing broken, careful handling of my furniture, sent me updates as to their ETA, moved me into my storage unit. Southern gentlemen, Southern charm, no doubt would call on them again. Thank you gentlemen, you rocked!!!

Great service. On time at pick up and delivery. Helpful in planning over the phone. Everything delivered safe and sound. My young, single daughter said the were polite and very nice.

Duke moving did a fine job moving us, there was one small nick in the stairs at the new house but only my wife would probably notice. The process leading up to the move was good, the owner Dave was always accessible via phone when I had questions. Through our dealings I had expected he would be one of the movers so I was a bit disappointed when 3 guys showed up and he was not one of them. Even so, they did a good job and moved pretty quickly on a really hot day. Another reason it went quickly was I was very prepared. All the boxes were packed and in the garage to minimize their trips up and down the stairs.

Average to mediocre at best.  Damaged several items during the move and didn't want to deal with it.  Had to ask several times to put protective runners down on my hardwood floors.  Movers took lots of breaks and moved pretty slowly throughout the day.  They wouldn't move a large piece of furniture upstairs - it's a difficult staircase but thats why I hired movers (unskilled).  One of the movers smelled strongly of alcohol - seemed sober but it was extremely noticeable.  There are to many quality movers in Charlotte to use these guys again.

The owner changed the move date the week before to accommodate another client which I agreed to, because frankly, I knew I wouldn't be able to get another mover on such short notice.  Because of the date change, I wasn't able to be there in person for the transfer of my belongings from the storage unit to their truck, which I realize now was a mistake.  I discovered later that many of my wood items - mostly picture frames and furniture were gouged and scratched because they weren't sufficiently protected during transit.  Nothing was broken - just cosmetic damage was incurred.  Eventually I discovered that one item had disappeared during the move - a Fender electric guitar.  Can I prove that one of the movers made off with it?  No.  I just know it went into that storage unit and then I never saw it again.  Overall, two of the three young men who did the heavy lifting moving the furniture into the house did a fine job, so I tipped $300 on a $2700 job .  I found it odd, however, that their supervisor (the owners brother, Jack Bruce) did so much complaining about the amount of work involved.  In fact, at one point, he literally told me I have "too much stuff".  Not a very professional thing to say for a person in the moving business.  I suspect the owner, David Duke, is probably farming out the less important moves to his younger brother attributing to a lack of quality control.  I would advise you to steer clear of this company.

The move was accomplished with only a minor glitch, one table leg was broken. Overall I was very satisfied with their scheduling and flexibility when changes happened on my end. I found their administrative processes to be very basic and left a lot of room for communication problems regarding the final details.

The small company perspective is one that lacks a level of detail and documentation that I was comfortable with. Although everything was accomplished on time, I would expect to work closely with the company on the details in order to have a satisfactory move.

He was really good.  His price was reasonable and his work was good.  He was local and he even told to call him so that he could come and move me again.  I did and it was cheaper than having it done locally from another moving company.  He was excellent.  They were very careful with my furniture and very professional.  They didn’t really do a whole lot of chatter; there was never any comment that was off color or disrespectful.  He was there when he said he was going to be there.  He finished the job and he was absolutely wonderful to work with.  He made the move very stress-free.  I had purchased some moving boxes and they were the kind that you can hang your garments up in.  I was carrying them down and he told me that if I wasn’t going to use those, he had a customer who was an older lady that couldn't really afford these things.  He asked if I minded if I took those boxes to her and I thought that was so sweet; I was really impressed with that.  That was something he didn’t have to do and I thought it was really thoughtful.

They were careful and protective of our furtinure.  I thought the price was acceptable.  They were fast and accomidating.  They moved things inside the house for us.  They were prompt.  They had all of the correct coverings.  I thought they were very friendly.

I haven't used Duke Movers in awhile but I'm sure they are the same excellant company I know. I have personally used Duke Movers 4 or 5 times. They are the best I have ever used and would never consider using any other. All companies should have their work ethic. Always on time. I don't think they take breaks until the job is done. At least I never saw it. Never a scratch on anything, (including walls). I had items in a storage unit and David Duke offered to go and get them without me having to meet him there. I can't say enough about how professional they are, and the great moving experiences I have had. I have recommended them to everyone  and all have been as pleased with the experience as I.

He is very personal, honest and great to work with. He is knowledgable, hard working and reasonable then the other big movers. In fact he does all the worK along with his brother and a small team.  And he only wants you topay after he has completed the move and you are happy with the service.

Duke was a two-man operation. They helped us move twice and both times provided good service at a great price. We packed everything and they moved it into their truck, drove to our new location, and unloaded. I thought they were efficient and cost-effective.

I would recommend Duke Movers to anyone. David is extremely helpful, professional and personable. They are also always very careful with our stuff and they moved everything very quickly and efficiently.
