DAC SERVICES HEATING & AIR CONDITIONING

I was a parts supplier to HVAC industry for twenty five years. What I learned was that the initial installation is critical to long term life and efficiency. I have had contact with MANY contractors over the years and heard stories about some of the biggest ones you would not believe... I have used DAC for service, Replacement and Installation over the past four years or so. They have provided the BEST QUALITY of service I have ever had and at a VERY reasonably price. Their crews are friendly, professional, respectful and highly efficient. They worked closely with me to deign and build TWO complete systems with AC and GAS heat. to be sure they would qualify for Energy Star ratings and Federal Tax credits.. I have had ZERO defects since installation, and ENORMOUS savings in utility bills.

Everything went perfectly, on time and checked and cleaned the systems.

They've been taking care of it. So over the years it's  in-service for the heating and cooling system. The quality of work has always been good.

We've used them for over 20 years.

Tuned up both A/C units. One is 20 yrs old one is 10 yrs old that DAC installed. Always good, honest service.

I heard good things from others about DAC so I switched from my prior HVAC servicer.  Scott arrived on time and went right to work.  Although system is old in HVAC terms, Scott said the a/c was in good shape.  You don't hear that from a lot of HVAC companies with their propensity to try and sell additional services.  Strongly recommend.

He called because he hasn't sent me a bill yet and they said they come out and inspect everything to make sure that everything is to my satisfaction before he gives the bill. He's so nice and pleasant, he got here so quickly. They came out, it took a full day, they started early that morning. I got up one morning and my air conditioner was dead so I called them. I'm sure he probably had a list of what needs to be done that day and he always had somebody come out in the spring or fall to make sure everything was okay and I think he just took pity on me so he said he'll be out here and he was here in about ten minutes. He looked at it, he had one of his technicians come out and go to the house and they did it. They went up the attic to run the wires down so that it would be separate from the set in my room, I don't know if it's ever been that cool and comfortable upstairs, they did the the little things like the little piping that comes out on the sand, they painted it black so that it goes with everything because it's got a black grill right on top of it. It's a bigger unit than I had, I asked him what I needed to get and after he came out here he suggested that, he came one other time to check on his guys and I got a call yesterday but I wasn't here, saying that they like to come out to make sure everything is in perfect running order before they give the bill. He's just unusually nice.

A friend recommended them and we have been using them for 10 years. Our unit was fairly new and we bought a plan for them to do the service checks.

We came home from an out-of-town trip, to find the house 90 degrees and the air handler still working away. It was late on Sunday, so I turned the system off and called DAC first thing on Monday.  (I noticed the piping on the outside condenser were caked in ice, in VERY HOT weather, so it was obvious there was a problem.  DAC wonderfully arranged to have a technician come out that afternoon. He (Josh) found the problem using his leak detector. Since we had DAC give both our HVAC systems a thorough inspection 8 months earlier, I was surprised that one had leaked essentially all the freon. Turns out the leak was out of the service pump down valves. (I have no idea how that leak could develop). But he also noticed that the air was coming out of our vents too strong, once it was fixed, and since we have always had a problem with high humidity, he lowered the blower speed. THat has helped some by allowing air to go through the  evaporator coils slowly enough for some of the humidity to be withdrawn as condensate.

All of this took about an hour and a half. I asked a lot of questions (poor Josh) , so labor was  2 hours.  I have been satisfied with the technicians and the information given by DAC. I must confess to being a bit curious about charges, as they are broken out to labor, specific materials, and  then added charges for the truck ($30), and the use of electronic leak detector ($45).

I would definitely recommend DAC, who we found through recommendations from friends, although you might want to confirm what charges will apply on a given visit, if possible. 

They were recommended by Ken Bradshaw whenever I had to replace an air conditioner in the room that he remodeled for. There wasn't any charge because it was under warranty. I had to do my filling, drywall and painting and they took care of all that. The project went perfectly well. It took a while because they did something once and yet it leaked again and that's fortunately I hadn't had the repair done as I was waiting to make sure and when they had dug up in the yard and redid something and once I was certain that it wasn't going to continue any further and the problem was resolved then I had the drywall repaired.

We used DAC before and were pleased with their service. It was a 90+ degree day and our air conditioning was completely out. I called the office and they were very responsive and polite. A serviceman came to the house the same day and replaced the part to fix the problem. While he was here he also looked at another HVAC issue we might want to deal with in the future and gave me an estimate. We will definitely use them again.

They were excellent. The price beat out the other 2 quotes. They came on the day they said they would, had all the necessary materials and completed the job an hour ahead of schedule. My attic opening was not large enough for the furnace so they had to remove the molding around the attic access hole. They re-assembled that whole frame in a professional way and cleaned up after themselves. Also, they had to move a couch in my son's room to get to the attic. When they were done, I asked them to leave the couch moved out because I wanted my son to clean up under the couch. Two times, both guys verified that I did not want it put back. They also took a good amount of time explaining anything I asked. They definitely had the heart of a teacher. They were not only knew their field but were informative on the rebates and processes I needed to take to coordinate with the secretary. They were courteous to my son and his guest, courteous to my dog and went out of their way to knock and tell me they were leaving for the day. They must have had lunch on the job but I can't figure when and it must have been short because I passed them continuously and even went to discuss things with them when they were in the attic. The owner seems great and very professional. He also has the heart of a teacher. When he came to give me the quote, he explained my ductwork as well as the calculation for tonage per square feet. Since I had already talked to 2 other contractors as well as my nephew in Washington, I already knew the unit was undersized...but the owner explained exactly how they calculate the correct size and that it's not all based on tonage. I love working with people who take the time to explain things. Although he was the lowest price of the 3, his taking the time to explain things to me mattered even more to me.
