We switched to them because our other carrier sucked out loud. Alltel has good service and their customer service is superb.

Internet Service
I USED TO HAVE INTERNET THROUGH A CABLE CONNECTION LIKE EVERYONE ELSE IN OUR NEIGHBORHOOD. HOWEVER, THE PRICE KEPT GOING UP TO THE POINT WHERE IT WAS $40-$50 A MONTH. ALSO, I HAD NUMEROUS PROBLEMS WITH THE CONNECTION BECAUSE SO MANY PEOPLE IN OUR NEIGHBORHOOD WERE ON IT AT THE SAME TIME. IT IS TRUE THAT DSL IS NOT AS FAST AS CABLE BUT IT IS FAST ENOUGH FOR ME. I HAVE NO TROUBLE SURFING THE NET OR DOWNLOADING. IT IS STILL MUCH, MUCH FASTER THAN DIAL-UP AND I CAN STILL USE MY WIRELESS CONNECTION. ALSO THE PEOPLE ON THE PHONE ARE NICE IF YOU EVER NEED ASSISTANCE.

I HAVE STAYED WITH ALLTEL BECAUSE THEY HAVE GENUINELY SUPERIOR SERVICE. FOR EXAMPLE, THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE REPS WILL SUGGEST A MORE COST-EFFECTIVE SERVICE PLAN ON THEIR OWN, I.E, WITHOUT ME EVEN ASKING ABOUT OTHER SERVICE PLANS. GENERALLY, THE SALES REPS CAN OFFER BETTER DEALS THAN THE RETAIL OUTLETS.
