Firethorne Country Club

The clubhouse manager, Pam, is very professional and responsive.  The venue is very beautiful, with gorgeous views of the golf course.  The weather was perfect so the cocktail hour was outside on the veranda.  Food service was very good.  The only negative was the additional costs and effort to decorate the room because they have limited linen colors available for the tables and chairs.  We ended up buying table covers and napkins (used--online) and renting table sashes.  I think they could work out a deal to split the cost of these items and then they could keep them for future weddings, or they could buy them and rent them for a reasonable fee.   This all ended up costing us about $1,000 extra and now we can sell the table covers and napkins online, but there are the cleaning costs and postage also. We also did have some hassle getting correct info re: gluten-free food, which was pretty important since the bride cannot eat gluten. But I am not sure if that was Pam's fault, or the chef's.  I did not get the impression that he is very amenable to changing any of his  recipes.   But overall, I would still rate it an "A" for location and food.  Our guests are still talking about how good the food was!
