The technician was prompt and completed the assessment and work quickly. He was very courteous and polite even though the service was performed on a 90+ degree day, and he was clearly uncomfortable and sweating profusely.

I hope to prevent other people from going through the financial burden, physical discomfort and suffering that we endured by this unprofessional/unethical company. The following are only some of the reasons I rate this company F. Essentially they ran many of the scams listed on home advisors and Angies list says to watch out for in Heat and Air companies. The heat pump is only 3 years old and parts were under warranty by Rheem. Rheem said their is no record of them using Rheem parts under warranty. (The tech from another company said the compressor fan was not new.) Scott claimed to warranty their work however this was not true for they did not refund to us nor repair HVAC to a working order. After a month of Byrum doing trial and error, changing/charging multiple parts and it still was not working. (see pic of gages day after their last visit) First visit diagnosis was that it need to be cleaned and the pour water on it and sent us a bill for $195. (this did not resolve anything and the tech from the company that did resolve it said it was not cleaned) After many call backs they replaced the blower, reversing valve, liquid line filter drier, checked for leaks and compressor claiming each time that it was working. It was not as confirmed by the new company that fixed it. The day after they claimed it was working once again (and it was not) We hired another company. This company did the diagnosis with us within 5 minutes. The found that the compressor had not been in stalled correctly and the freon was low and determined it was leaking. Repaired the unit within a few days to working order. With a great attitude. We asked to always call us so that we could meet them for the repair/diagnosis. They did not and it in-fact timed so that no one was there to witness the repairs because it was an outside unit. Byrum did not record the correct address and corresponding repairs on invoices or that payment was received. They even sent a tech to the wrong address and charged us for it.

Unit was bought from Lowe's Hardware in Monroe and installed by Byrum Heating and Cooling of Marshville,NC. Both the sales process (Lowe's Tommy Mennell and Byrum's Justin Carpenter) and the installation was very professional. It is only a month since the installation but so far we are very happy with the unit.

Very well, technician was prompt, professional, very good at explaining the problem. He encouraged me to obtain estimates from different companies for replacing my unit, but also was willing to replace the freon even though it would be very costly. Scheduled anot appointment with one of his company's salesmen for a free estimate while there with me, saved me calling the office to do it myself.

Company installed unit, years ago. Now it is not cooling. Called Monday morning. Told there is a $95 dollar diagnostic fee. Tech comes out Monday afternoon, Adds coolant.







I asked technician why would it need coolant and the unit is barely 2 years old. He stated there might be a leak and there was a charge for checking. I called the company and was told that it happens with THOSE units. So I was asked if I was sold a defective unit. "no, I'm told, but it happens. I stated this should NOT happen on a unit that's barely 2 years old and was immediately told that the service manager would be calling me today.







Service manager called me back immediately and told me that they I don't have a labor warranty any longer but I have parts and he also said he has seen that in the units. And if it was something they did on installation then they would fix. I asked if they installed a bad unit and was told its not that it was a bad unit but it happens. Service Manager was of no assistance offered no suggestions or no help. He did say "I'm just trying to keep you calm". I stressed again on a unit that's 2 years old. The technician found a small leak and said he repaired it. But he suggested replacing the coils, which is $$$$. Labor 3 to 4 hours. $$$$.

it was never told to me if the leak was caused by bad installation or bad parts.

Cost included: Labor, Coolant, Leak Check, Diagnostic

I called them back as asked why the check for leaks was not added in the diagnostic. Because its different, I'm told. Yet they are still checking for a problem. I would be hard pressed to call this company again. Once my warranties are up. I will not be using them again. I will be calling Trane to see if I can change location of my warranty, or if it even matters.

This company will nickel and dime you and you will be broke.

The tech involved was professional and courteous. the good scores above are for the technician ONLY!

For anyone looking for a quality company to install or replace a new HVAC system, I highly recommend Byrum Heating & AC.  I had a maintenance contract with a very well-known business for years and received very poor quality customer service. I was dissatisfied with the service,  did not trust that company.  They did very little and always tried to sell me things I did not need.  I needed to replace my HVAC system in July 2015, so I asked trusted friends who was the best in the business and Byrum Heating & AC was recommended.  I took the time to educate myself on the Trane system and researched Byrum Heating & AC as a company.  I contacted Sandy Moon at Byrum and she sent Justin Carpenter to my home to evaluate my needs.  Justin  took the time to explain things in detail with my wife and I.  He honestly went over options and recommendations.  Justin was very professional,  technically competent and very helpful in my selection not only of the system I purchased, but  also in my decision to select Byrum Heating & Air to install it.  From the first day, I was impressed with every member of the team that installed my system. Each one took the time to answer my questions and cared about true customer service.  Justin made sure I had window air conditioner units while they were completing the work and stayed in contact to make sure I was satisfied with the work performed and the quality of the service.  I was very  impressed that every time I needed anything, all my calls were answered very quickly and I had a team member back to my home within 24 hours.  I truly felt a family atmosphere with Byrum Heating & AC.  They never tried to recommend or suggest anything I did not need; they gained my trust and respect.  Justin continued to follow up after the sale and inspection to provide that rare quality customer experience.  Eric Byrum also provided excellent technical support and  is a true professional that knows the systems very well.  Finally, I wanted to say how impressed I was with the fact Byrum Heating  & AC is a Christian driven company with integrity that is very Veteran friendly.  That was important to me and it was reflected with every Byrum employee I have come in contact with.   Thank you for the quality products, technical support and for creating relationships with your customers.   I made the right choice selecting Byrum Heating & AC.

Byrum arrived 10 minutes early on a Saturday morning, replaced the furnace, removed the old system, installed a new programmable thermostat, thoroughly tested the system and were gone by noon. They were professional, courteous and thorough. We could not be more pleased.
