METCO TIRE & AUTO SERVICE

Fantastic. We had the tire plugged in another state and it was leaking while we were in NC. Took it to Metco and they replugged for $15, under 30 minute wait. A few weeks later the tire was losing air again and took it back right away as we were about to leave town for 10 days and the car would be sitting in a parking lot. Didn't want to return to a flat. They determined it couldn't be replugged so put on a good used tire. They normally charge $25 for a used tire but only charged us $10 since we had already paid $15 for the plug a few weeks back. We weren't even there for 20 minutes. These people are lovely and we'll go back to replace the tires with new ones at their shop.

My husband dropped off the car. Told them what it was doing and what he thought the problem was based on the code indicated from the check engine light. He has a device to read these codes. The mechanic did the work based on what my husband indicated, but apparently did not drive it after the work was completed. I say this because when I picked the car up it was no better than when I dropped it off....still shook/vibrated, and no power. I thought that all it needed was to be driven and it would straighten out, so I took it a couple of miles to get gas. Nothing changed, so I took it back to Metco. The owner had left during the time I was gone, so I dropped it off, and my husband took me home. I decided to have it fixed elsewhere, and had it towed to a different shop. My work hours didn't match Metco's business hours, so I wrote him a letter to let him know what I was thinking. Bottom line, I asked for a refund of the labor portion of the bill. I agreed to pay for the parts since they were new and already installed. Metco did send a refund check for all the labor, and a letter of apology for the miscommunication. The refund came only 4 days after I sent the letter. What I learned from this is never tell a mechanic what you think is wrong so they will do diagnostics to determine the real problem. I also learned that Seth and Cathy, (Metco owners) are good, honest people, and they really do care about pleasing the customer.

I have been going out there for years now and now know the owner personally. It is wonderful that she has people that can work on a Lexus and don't over charge.

I've been going to Metco for several years. They are an excellent shop for basic car maintenance and repair: oil changes, alignment, tires, vehicle inspection, repair/replacement of auxiliary equipment, and similar type work. I have found them to be absolutely trustworthy and their prices are very reasonable. Highly recommended.
