I thought that I had an outside GFCI receptacle that shorted out when it flipped a breaker and would not reset. This knocked out the lights in my kitchen and stairway. I was going to replace the receptacle myself until I found that the wire was burned in half, where it went into the exterior wall. I started attempting to get some estimates for the repair. The other electricians that I could find were going to charge me just for an estimate. Their telephone attitude seemed to be that they had more work than they could handle, and I should pay them to tell me how much I would have to pay them and to look at a burned wire. And, could be at my house two weeks. I called His & Her Electric. I believe that I explained my problem to Jay, who asked if it was an emergency. I explained that it wasn't, but it was a real inconvenience, he explained their backlog of work, but still worked me into their busy schedule for an estimate the next afternoon. They happened to be on another job near my neighborhood. They there here the next day exactly on time to assess my problem. Within twenty minutes of their arrival Jeannie and Josh had developed a plan for the repair, told me everything that would be required (cutting a hole in a closet wall for a box), the supplies that would be required, removed a cable from an old hot-tub connection and give me a written estimate. They also explained that Jay would call me back and let me know how soon I could be fit into the schedule for the repair. Jay called just as I was told he would and the work was scheduled. Again Josh and Jeannie arrived on time. The work was quickly and neatly completed. Being completely satisfied with their service and attitudes, I am planning to hire them for a more involved upgrade in the near future.
