We hired TJ on recommendation of our realtor, who uses him for all of her real estate needs.
We had an appointment the previous week, but the power and water companies didn't get services turned on, so the inspection had to be rescheduled. TJ was great about it, and rescheduled as soon as he could get us in his schedule to come out again.
We met him at our new house, and right away he told us about a bunch of things he noticed walking around and had already seen. We could tell right away that he really had his eyes open and was zoned into totally looking at every square inch of the house.
The inspection took several hours, but the water was still not turned on, so TJ had to make a 3rd trip to the house again in the week to complete it. With all these additional trips and inconveniences to his schedule, he was still very professional, polite, and did not charge us additional service fees or anything, which would have been understandable in his position.
A few days later we received our complete report. It is a spiral bound, full color report, printed on nice thick card stock paper, in a vinyl cover. A really detailed and nice report to receive. Other inspections I've received were faxed to us, or just stapled copies on regular computer paper with no photos.
TJ was very knowledgeable as we walked through the house, he checked all the major things like appliances, A/C, and also the tiniest little details like door knobs and each and every window in the house. He had little tools to check the air coming out of the vents, crawled through attics, into the crawlspace, etc. Very thorough, and made us feel very secure.
Not only did he perform the inspection, but he also spoke with us about the things he found. For example, the counter top had shifted some- so he went into detail explaining how best to repair it. The garage door had many automatic settings we were unfamiliar with, so he took the time to show us several components of how it works.
Overall, we were very happy with our choice to use TJ for the inspection. I wouldn't hesitate to use him again, or to recommend him to anybody in the area that needed a home inspection. I trust that he would be very thorough and honest.
