"First, please note that this project was completed over 6 months ago and a review was just written. Very surprising and interesting. This project was 100% professionally built. WNL resolved MAJOR drainage issues for Ms. [Member Name Removed], built sidewalks, stone walls, installed a fabulous native plant garden and so forth... and she loved it! The walkable paths in question also act as drainage remediation with piping inside the walks. Thus performing a double duty to allow traveseability and water control. The stone size choice being "complained about" is very walkable and is used on 90% of our projects in which a walkway is required to remediate water issues. In 16 years we have never had a complaint about this specific stone size "not being walkable". It is very walkable, a mower can be pulled though this area- not as easily as turf or concrete of course. This project was a delicate balance between water remediation functionality and utility. Ms. [Member Name Removed] was educated specifically that any smaller stones would wash away down the hillside due to the volume and velocity of water flow and the project would be a failure from a remediation standpoint if this occured. Thus, these concepts were understood and the design was built with Ms. [Member Name Removed]'s needs in the forefront as always. It is a true travesty and disappointment that she would say our professional, seasoned men caused damage to a pond valve apparatus in which they did not. This statement is entirely false. Upon initial meeting, prior to work beginning she had noted there were issues with her pond filling appropriately? Seems a bit of a stretch that she mentions this months later and at project close she understood that WNL did not cause this damage. As a potential client please call with any questions and chat with our customer centric professionals at WNL. We literally partner with many thousands of extremely satisfied long term clients. Social media does not often prompt the great reviews....but often seemingly bored folks to write reviews many months later. We have some great pictures of this project we would love to share- stunning results! If angieslist.com could provide a way for businesses to upload pics we would show off this great work. However, at the moment there does not seem to be that option although we do note that folks writing reviews can upload media?"
"This gentleman is full of stuff! When our educator showed up at his home for the first visit he and his wife complained about every contractor that had ever worked for them from the builder to the electrician to the plumber to the last landscape firm they used. The first red flag should have been heeded by our firm but we love challenges and were sure we could show these folks what an A grade firm could do for them. To address line by line- First not all clients are great or even good. The trees mentioned look fine. We had out team leader stop out and take pictures and view the trees post Chads phone conversation. They look as expected from transplants that are rooting in. The drip line statement is not correct- the concept of more water on the trees is what was stated by an arborist. The client did not monitor his irrigation and did not care to up the time to accommodate the trees as he was directed to do so in warmer weather. Recover in a season or two refers to the standard transplant protocol of taking roughly 3 years for a large field grown tree to root in and begin growth. Truth of the electric line. We did not see or damage lines during our install. Over 1 year later [Member Name Removed] calls and states we cut his line and he was without power for two week and his food was ruined- requesting WNL to pay for his food!!! We have friends at at the power company- we called to provide good customer service and confirm Maloneys statement. They basically said his was lying to us seeking to get some free money! The man was without power for less than 1 hour! as confirmed by the power company themselves. Note his last statement- showing he did not even want to pay his balance when due over a year ago. Not a good experience for our firm. We did supply all customer service as expected."
"[Member Name Removed], thank you for your business. Very enjoyable experience for our team. Contact us at any time."
Chad Wilson came out to talk to me about what I wanted done. He told me that day that they were 2 to 3 weeks out in their work, so I knew what to expect. They were very neat in the tree and stump removal and left the shavings where I asked them to, since I intend to compost them for a year. The crepe myrtle was very close to my storage building, but they were able to remove the crepe myrtle and most of the stump. They reseeded all of the areas where the trees and stumps were removed. The small elm that was removed wasn't part of the original estimate ($2,365), so they charged me $80 to remove it. They offered to move it elsewhere, but it had grown up in the shadow of the very large crepe myrtle for several years and was in an awkward shape. I'll probably try another American elm, later.
They planted a lovely 2.5-2.75" caliper willow oak in the backyard and a beautiful 15 gallon redbud in the front yard. They made strong soil berms around the plantings and mulched them well. They gave me instructions on watering the new trees. I will be purchasing some of the organic fertilizer that they use when they planted the trees.
I had one incident where there was small but significant damage to the brand-new storage building in my backyard. Chad got right back to me. He spoke to his crew, who assured him they hadn't caused the damage. Part of my fence had been down for several weeks, due to delivery of the building. Fortunately, I was able to get a new vinyl sheet replaced free of charge, from the building company.
Elaine and Chad have been very helpful in answering my many questions. They are very pleasant and professional. They even emailed me a copy of their insurance information, when they emailed me the estimate and the contract. I have enjoyed working with them, and I look forward to enjoying my trees for years to come.

"Wilsons Natural Landscaping is a high quality, reliable, accountable Landscape Contracting firm. We have been in business supplying high quality projects in the Charlotte region for over 8 years. We have a track record with hundreds of extremely satisfied clients. The vast majority of our clients come back to us with repeat projects as we strive to build long term, trusting and lasting relationships. We have been very successful and we are very proud of our relationships. Please do not hesitate to contact us to discuss any negative comments made in the above complaint. This complaint should not hinder your desire or thoughts to work with Wilsons Natural Landscaping as we can supply you with a great multitude of very happy client references. We seek to have a perfect project/relationship every time we work with a client- and the vast majority of the time this happens. However, we do realize mistakes are made and WE HOLD OURSELVES accountable and do fix issues we encounter if given the opportunity. We are not perfect- we try to be. WE ARE ACCOUNTABLE. Being forced to reply to this report I will be brief. I do not wish to seem negative in any manner regarding our relationship with the member. We do appreciate the opportunity to work with them and we did have many good projects with them. Chad has contacted the member to question the report and see how we could professionally rectify the situation, however no sign of being amendable is present on their end. I will briefly address each statement made by the member below. I am Chad Wilson and do appreciate the members comments regarding my knowledge and skills. The member did not sign a maintenance contract with us- we do not undertake this type of contract. We manage on a monthly basis. . However, they did sign multiple install contracts that were executed very well over the past year or so providing a great and successful landscape. This alone shows they were happy with our work, skills and professionalism. We did not perform maintenance during the winter time and do not strive to with folks who are consistently VERY late regarding payments. The fuel comment is unfounded and untrue. . The "project" in question was a $5,000 sod renovation. . We did grade, amend and professionally address soils. There were roughly two (2) areas of the sod that Chad viewed WITH the client, discussed and agreed to replace if decline became evident. It was agreed to wait a week or so to see how the sod/soil behaved. However, the member wrote their complaint prior to the week ending. We were not given the opportunity to view the sod or make agreed upon repairs. They did not adhere to our verbal agreement. WNL did agree to be accountable! Post construction it became apparent we MIGHT HAVE hit an irrigation line. I cannot comfortably say this is a fact although it may be true. Others repaired it. Chad did contact the irrigation company to inform them to send the invoice to us (we have a good relationship with them). However, this report was written prior to the invoice being sent. I can assure that NO Landscape Firm that is a legitimate, professional Landscape Contractor is 1/3 our price points- virtually impossible! We do hope all turns out well for the member and their new landscaper and apologize for ANY shortcomings we may have had during our relationship. Again, please feel free to contact us at any time to discuss our firm, protocols and professional services. We do not wish this single incident to be an indicator of your view of our firm. We can supply hundreds of stellar references and plan to continue our quality work and putting smiles on our client’s faces! Thanks for your time. .
