I have been a Windstream customer for 16 years and have received fairly good service from them during that time However, in July 2013, Windstream installed a new DSLAM server for my area and the service has taken a 180 degree turn for the worse. I have been without internet service for many of those days and the speed is not nearly what I am being billed for. On one of the many calls to their technical repair service, I was told by the Windstream representative that Windstream never guaranteed uninterrupted service or that they would provide the speed I pay for. As I write this review, I am without both phone and internet service. I lost phone service on 08/20/2013 and when I contacted their technical repair department, I was told they would not repair my phone service until 08/26/2013. I have never encountered a business whose service was this poor and treated their customers with such blatent disregard. I've seen nothing but outrage on the internet from Windstream customers and am now beginning to explore satellite service alternatives. If you have alternative phone and internet options available to you, I would strongly advise you to pursue those avenues.

This transition went as bad as it could. First service person set up the change over but neglected to indicate the number of work units on the work order. Work order was placed on hold and there was no follow up to us that this happened. We called when the internet upgrade did not happen. They revised the work order. Technician called on the day the service was to be performed and told us the phone line for internet upgrade was the wrong line. We have spent countless hours on the phone with customer service. Nothing has gone as it should and every work order associated with our account has been mishandled. We are searching for any other provider and will cancel services with Windstream as soon as possible.

The price includes voice mail, caller ID and long distance; it doesn't include internet. The price is a little high. I have high speed internet that is 10 megabytes. The quality is good.

They were really pricey but we never had any problems with our phone. We never really needed their service. We have switched over to another company because we bundled and the whole package got cheaper. So that was convenient. We got more services and more cable and the phone and it was altogether cheaper. We would not go back to them.

I am at the end of their line for internet. So, it is a little slow. There are not many alternatives where I live; I do not have a lot of choices available.

Here is the problem I keep having every month with Windstream. I joined Windstream over 2 years ago and I have been very pleased with the T.V., the Home phone, the Internet and also the Cell phone service the company offers, the part of this company I am NOT HAPPY WITH is the Billing and Customer Service. I had my billing set up on Auto Pay month so Every month I wouldn’t have to worry about writing a check or keeping track of when its due, they would just charge my debit card and my bill is paid. The problem is, when you are set up on Auto pay, you don’t usually think you have to keep a check of Every little detail every month in the bill, as long as the monthly price stays consistent, then I know everything is fine. Well, starting about 12 months ago, my Special introduction price expired, when you first join, they give you a really good deal on a few services put together, and the price stayed consistent, but after that introduction period was over, they were free to add what extras they wanted to every month and they HOPED it wouldn’t be caught and with many people its not caught. Anyway, every month my bill is more, so I have to call, back in Nov of last year, it was $35.00 more then it should be, I called and the lady was very nice and she found where I was charged $35 but she NEVER COULD figure out what it was for so she gave me a credit. I have been charged more then I should have to pay every month for the last 12 months, but I am starting with the LARGEST extra charge I have had so far. So every month I check my bill and it has been $5 - $15 dollars more then I usually pay and every month they find a mistake and take it off. This month I called and I was told that I had UPGRADED my Internet and Home phone service, that’s why I was more, I have NEVER changed my plan since I got this service, the day my service started with the 200 TV package plan I changed it to 250, but that’s it. Well, that was fixed. I also have had problems with my Cell phone bill also while Windstream had it, but I am running out of room, so I will stay this, my cell phone bill showed I had just Changed plans last month and this month was the first bill of my new plan and I was charged and EXTRA $20 for the new change, I haven’t changed anything with my cell phone bill in a few years. I also had a 1000 minutes with my plan and I paid extra for my nights and weekends to start at 7pm, but they had dropped me to 550 minutes and NO 7pm nights and weekends, just 9pm and this one was rollover. After about 45 minutes on the phone everything, I HOPE, was fixed. The ladies who helped me were VERY NICE and did a great job. With Millions of Customers, the way I see it, a $5 or $10 dollar monthly increase on EVERYONE’S PLANS means and EXTRA MILLIONS FOR WINDSTREAM. I don’t know if that’s what they are doing, but it sure is FISHY. SO EVERYONE, WATCH YOUR BILLS EVERY MONTH!! If someone from Windstream reads this and can help me, PLEASE CALL ME, I would Love to talk to you more.
