Ultracraft Company

Description of Work: In 2005 we remodeled our kitchen. We used The Kitchen Store in Culver City CA. We chose Ultracraft Company thermafoil cabinet. The Kitchen Store never mentioned that cabinets could not tolerate heat. Over the years, two of the upper cabinet doors, on either side of the microwave, have delaminated twice each. The Kitchen Store has supported the replacement of the doors twice but no longer represent Ultracraft Company. Recently the replacement doors experienced delimitation again and I attempted to contact Ultracraft directly. Neither the VP of Operations nor, the president of the corporation responded my my letters, although the replacement doors to shipped to me. I did manage to speak to the customer service rep, who informed me that installation should have included heat shields to protect to thermafoil. The heat shields that were sent to me are designed to go between the range and the lower cabinets. Apparently there is no solution for the upper doors. The cost to hang the replacement doors are on us. I am writing this to let others know that UltraCraft thermafoil cabinets, while very pretty, are not durable for kitchen use.
