Nehemiah Construction

Beware  --  Absolutely horrible experience  --  We hired Jeff Zenger owner of Nehemiah Construction Company/Lisha Construction/Solomon Dev. located in Lewisville NC in 2008 to build our home. We signed off on the plans and signed a contract with a check for $68,000 and off we went on a long road of h***. Jeff Zenger started our home and everything went OK for a month or so until we had questions about some of the extra bills we were receiving and ask for receipts for these items since no change orders were ever signed. He refused and then it was all down hill form there. I wrote Jeff Zenger a check for $12,000+ dollars for deposits to be paid towards kitchen appliances and he never paid for them (pocketed the money) and I repeatedly asked for him to either pay for the items or return my money, he refused. That was bad enough but when he took a $60,000 draw and headed to the beach on vacation the same day for 2 weeks (without even drying in my home that he had just put insulation in that was knocked out of walls due to heavy rain) we had enough. We tried to get Jeff to finish our home and return the money he had taken, but he refused. I had no option but to finish our home myself. When I finally got over the anger of having soaking wet house with no money to hire a another builder (I hired Jeff Zenger and gave him the money) I contracted the subs and finished the home myself. During this process we discovered some major structural issues we had to repair because he had not even put structural support (angle irons) that would support parapet walls. Great savings for Jeff Zenger owner of Nehemiah Construction but very dangerous if we had not caught this intentional omission (from my view point). We went to arbitration and were awarded a legal judgement against Nehemiah Construction/Jeff Zenger for $50,000+ and he has refused to pay us a dime. Since arbitration has has created another company name called Lisha Construction. This was created for one reason to avoided paying the judgement. The reason for this review is to hopefully help someone that is thinking of using any of Jeff Zenger's companies to think twice before getting involved with any of Jeff Zenger's companies. He will pick up and run if you question him in anyway or if he gets angry watch out...and he will walk away and won't look back. Please all be very careful.
