I would not recommend!

Mike and his team were great to work with. We have used them not only for 2 bathrooms, but they rebuilt our deck and helped install a shelter with roof that we added on the deck. That was done in 2018. They have a sense of humor and good spirit to work with. This year they helped to redo our kitchen. All of the team Mike, Tim, and Mike the painter are great resources for questions and support.

During our (unfinished) basement remodel project, Mike, Tim and crew were communicative, prompt, and thorough. We're now the proud owners of an additional 800 sqft of living area and a new 3 piece full bath. This adds value to our home, but the extra room to breathe is priceless.

The project was the removal and replacement of a 16x16 foot deck to include: two set of stairs (one set of stairs was a simple replacement of an old set with a new set containing the same number of steps and placement), install vinyl lattice around/under the deck, install three trellises, build stand for a statute covered with Fiberon skirt board, and install 8 x 10 brick patio. All materials and construction (same height, dimensions, supports under the deck, etc.,) were discussed in depth with the contractor prior to signing a contact. The deck the contractor installed was 4 inches higher than original deck, moved when walked on and the railing rattled. The deck being higher by four inches may not seem like a big deal; however the increased height of the deck increased the number of steps (in the stair cases) causing me an issue when accessing my utility room. The suggested change the contractor offered was not acceptable, it seem unsafe. I requested the contractor to lower the deck to correct the stairs issue and to put the support under the deck as initially agreed, he refused. I contacted the city building inspection office for an inspection of the deck; the inspector determined the contractor had two code violations (the contractor used 4-inch footers instead of 8-inch footers and deck support posts were off center; they were on the edge of the footers). I instructed the contractor to cease construction; however he had all my money for completion of the deck at this point. I obtained an attorney to try to negotiate with the contractor to complete the deck, correct all construction and code violations. His only offer was to fix the code violations. The attorney tried to negotiate to get some of my money back from the contractor. Per the attorney the contractor first offered $300, then $500 if I would sign a release of all liability document. I refused the $500. The end result was the deck was 4 inches higher them the original deck, moved when walked on and the railing rattled. No stairs, no vinyl lattice, no trellises, no stand built for statute and no 8 x 10 brick patio was installed.

Mike Hester was timely in his communication, focused on quality workmanship and finished the job within the expected time frame. Couldn't be happier.

Mike Hester is awesome. Work was expertly done and Mike and his assistant Tim were a pleasure to work with. They were here when they said they would be and worked diligently getting the projects done. Would recommend Mike Hester to anyone looking for a contractor. Will definitely use him for any future projects. Estimates were very reasonable .

Really went out of their way to meet our vision. When we had a problem with an employee of a subcontractor, Mike and the sub really stepped up and responded to the problem. Mike is doing more work for us in the near future.

Great job on building our HUGE front porch and pool deck. Very professional. We would recommend Mike to our friends and family.

During the remodeling of the second house we learned that my husband had cancer so I just told Mr. Hester to do what needed doing and devoted myself to my husband for the remainder of his life. I could not be more pleased with the outcome or the price. I just hired Mr. Hester to work on a third house for me.

General Contractor uses sub-contractors exclusively. Though this General was responsive to my concerns and issues, he failed to properly supervise the work, in my opinion. I was required to inspect the work of the sub-contractors and call the General if I found any problems. I hired a General to prevent me from having to do this. This General Contractor left the project before completion seemingly because I wasn't happy with his work.

I love my kitchen.... thanks to the timely, courteous and professional care the contractor and all of the workmen gave. They new what they were doing, making the entire process worry free for me!

Mr. Hester's company was and is doing outstanding work. A problem was discovered by myself on conecting our ramp to the front porch. Mr Hester came and looked at the problem and agreed and fixed the problem with no muss or fuss about. Thats what you call a proffesional.

I can't say enough good things about Mike Hester! From the moment of first contact he has been courteous, professional, and his work is outstanding. He is a quality contractor with a quality personality. He made me a fabulous master suite and refinished a basement the family will enjoy for years to come. If I have any needs in the future, I know exactly who I will call.
