Both clocks are running great!

Gary came to our house, evaluated the movement itself to determine if repair was necessary or financially justified.  Upon determination that the movement was of high quality and thus a good candidate for repair and the expense thereof, he totally disassembled the movement from the case to take it back to his shop.  At his shop the clock mechanism had to be taken completely apart, to replace many worn parts and then rebuilt.  He completed the work and totally tested out the clock to ensure its repair.  When finished, he returned to our home and reinstalled the mechanism in the case,

It should be noted that this was an Emperor Clock Case kit that I built 30 years ago in which I installed an Urgos (?) movement.  I did virtually little maintenance on the movement for all those years, thus I was very pleased that it was financially justified to do the repair without having to buy a whole new movement.  

Gary was exceedingly nice and was a pleasure to deal with.  He certainly knows his business and is most careful not to do any damage to the clock or the surrounding area.  I absolutely would use his service again!

Ours is a Seth Thomas grandfather clock. He took great care in handling it and the service was superb. The service was performed in Concord, NC.

Gary Phillips was on time for appt. Stayed approx six hours cleaning and serving grand father clocks. Excellent experience. Highly recommend him.

I took an antique clock to Mr. Phillips that stopped working several years ago. He talked with me about what he thought was causing the problem and told me that it was likely repair was not practical. After partially dismantling the clock to check the electric motor and bushings on the clock works he confirmed that he would not be able to repair it (mainly because of the difficulty of obtaining a replacement for the 50 year old electric motor). He reassembled the clock and talked options a while and about the area he lives in and we left. He refused payment for checking out the clock and was very friendly and likes talking about the area where he lives and works near Kannapolis North Carolina.

Gary Phillips was a awesome person to meet. Very friendly. I had no trust issues with having him in my house. He was friendly, work efficiently and took initiative to fix any problem that existed. I would recommend him to anyone needing in home clock repair.
