Tar Heel Basement Systems

Felt rushed to approve the work and pay the balance. Discovered multiple issues later. Just inside the door there's a rock they missed, so now it's under the plastic, which will sooner or later puncture through. I asked for a better door than the one the first installed, but the second was also poorly made and didn't come close to sealing. Called/talked to someone about the issues, but afterward they stopped returning my calls. They also left lots of debris on the ground. The inspection didn't pass for multiple reasons. Waiting for them to come back and address the issues the inspector found. Update: THBS did follow up and fix the issues. They constructed a new crawlspace door that seals, which was the biggest issue. They took out the problematic rock. The inspection passed.

I went with Tarheel Basement Systems to have my crawlspace encapsulated. I liked the Sean Madden gave but I have to admit the follow up was spotty. I was given dates work would be done but I had to call to find out exact times. I expected a little more communication but, in the end, Tarheel showed up when they said they would, and they did the work they promised. Macai and Fred did a great job encapsulating the crawlspace. I'm pretty picky and I went down and inspected things myself. There is no way I could have done a good a job as they did. The work these guys do is grueling in unsavory conditions. I had a small issue with the crawlspace door and dehumidifier pump, but both were fixed in short order. In the end I'm happy with how things turned out and I would recommend Tarheel to anyone looking to get their crawlspace encapsulated.

I couldn't be more pleased with JT at Tarheel. He did a very detailed inspection and reviewed them with me before the day was out! He also provided me with same day contract incentives! He personally went the full mile for me and delivered the dehumidifier before the encapsulation! I interviewed 2 other companies and Tarheel was the best by far!

Jess and Josiah came out to lift some sunken concrete and fill some voids that developed under my garage and slab. They did an awesome job! Everything looks great and I feel much better about how stable everything is.

The contractors did an outstanding job! The triple J's , Jalynn, James and Justin were very respectful and made sure were satisfied. My wife even went underneath the house with the contractor and before the work, she was afraid to go underneath the house.

Also, just to note...the installation team with Tar Heel Basement Systems was excellent. They answered all of my questions and provided daily updates on the installation progress. They provided me with pictures and again answered ALL of my questions and was super patient with me. The work quality was top shelf. I am more than satisfied with the quality of work performed! Daniel, Derrick, and Dominic did absolutely amazing work on my home, were prompt, explained everything more than sufficiently and respectful. A five star rating to them and Tarheel basement systems as a whole! Seamless project from start to finish and worked within my budget when other local vendors wouldn’t. Highly recommend!

From the first encounter with Nathan Sealy who inspected our crawled and gave us a quote, to Daniel, Derrick and Dom who did the installation work, we could not have been happier with the services provided by Tarheel Basement Systems. They were on time, professional, courteous and thorough. They were actually singing in my crawl space while they were doing their work. They were exceedingly pleasant and respectful throughout the entire process. We received updated emails prior to the installation date informing us of what we needed to know before they got there. They showed us pictures of everything and were very easy to work with. There was a financing option which we used for the down payment to expedite the process but we could have opted out as well. If you are thinking about work in your crawl space, I highly recommend this company!

Josue Morales, Michael Gabriel, and Anthony McCleary Jr., came and encapsulated our crawl space. they were professional and hard working crew. They finished our job in two days. They explained the work and completed as expected. We are in Pinehurst area and the humidity level fluctuates high and low, this is a problem for our floors before we encapsulated the crawl space we had our floors damaged by high humidity. After re-flooring our entire house, we chose Tar Heel Basement Systems to protect our investment, the floors as well as the rest of our house. I give the Tar Heel Basement Systems 5 Stars. Their staff from our inspector (Mark Caddell), to the work crew were easy to work with and the work was completed as scheduled and they were available for our questions before and after the work was completed. It went great, they did everything that I was told they would do. They were courteous, friendly and well informed.

Wanted my patio raised due to it sinking and cracking from trees being removed. it was a sight for sore eyes. As a veteran I want to thank this company for all you do. From the beginning to the end, they are very professional. Rowin and Justin are very knowledgeable at what they do and they do outstanding work. thank you again! you guys do excellent work. Work: Foundation work to replace girders and joists. Proposed Completion Time: 7 days Actual Completion Time: 7 MONTHS Attempts to Complete: 6 attempts - 4 attempts by internal staff, 2 attempts by sub-contractor Outcome: 1. Work performed has to be redone by another company. 2. Additional damage to the property resulted from the work performed. 3. Company requesting a release of liability for work they performed and claim to be up to code and general workman standards in exchange for waiving a $1,500 outstanding balance for unspecified services. 4. Possible litigation. Groundworks, the parent company, has continued to send my complaints back to the branch that I was having an issue with. Repeated attempts for escalation were ignored. I had to physically go to their office to speak to the general manager. They have slow walked the entire process and misrepresented what they were to deliver and their "expertise". Their final product speaks for itself.

Roswin S. and Justin H. leveled my driveway and sidewalks and filled in the cracks yesterday. They explained everything in detail and cleaned up when they were done. They did a great job. Thank you!

Tar Heel Basement Systems just finished fixing my crawlspace and installing a dehumidifier, and I'm very happy with the results. The team did an excellent job and finished in about 1/2 day. I can highly recommend the company AND the team (Shane English - foreman, Luke Bolinger, and Riley Lane).

Tar Heel Basement Systems has done both a foundation stabilization and then a year later, crawl space encapsulation. The James, James, Jeffery and Terell team were definitely the A-Team. They were all great to work with, pleasant, efficient, and hard-working, and went above and beyond in the quality of their work and attention to detail. Thank You 'A' Team!!

Tar Heel was great from beginning to end. Luke met us at the house and gave us great advice on the encapsulation we wanted done and additional input on how to make our space more usable and secure. He was great though whole process. The team that came to do the actual installation, Cameron, Evan and Onyx, were very professional and also went above and beyond (they found buried brick under the ground underneath the space). The team was fast and did a great job on the install. We really appreciate the excellent work and the overall experience.

Appreciated help of Nathan on front end to understand and accept offer for our crawl space upgrade. The team of Donald Jones, James White, and Devon Vereen did an exceptional job with the encapsulation of our crawl space. They explained what they were doing, explained what was needed to be done, and worked hard to get it done and clean up after! Highly recommend.

It started great with our initial appointment. David M. was super informative and very responsive to all of our questions. Our team that did the work were awesome! Everybody we interacted with this company was exceptionally professional, helpful, and understanding of our needs. The work crew of Ani, Ryan, and Jamar were very efficient with the work performed and did an exceptional job. We will 100% be using this company for any services needed in the future. We can not say enough about the quality of this company. This was the best interaction we have had with any contractors on our 100 year old home from start to finish. If I see these guys out on the town I'm buying their drinks.
